Mindy Kaling’s latest TV venture is a romcom miniseries called Four Weddings and a Funeral, loosely based on the 1994 classic British film of the same name. It follows four American friends who reunite in London for a wedding, but a giant twist of fate has them battling the realities of romance and heartbreak. The series debuted on Hulu on July 31, 2019.

Based on the characters we’ve encountered throughout the series, we thought it was time to present you with the cream of the crop in terms of who we like the most.

Warning: If you haven’t seen the show, go watch it right now because there will be spoilers. With that said, get ready to continue on this wild ride; Here is a ranking of the characters from the Four Weddings and a Funeral Hulu miniseries.

Haroon

Nikesh Patel and Harish Patel in Four Weddings and a Funeral Hulu

Kash’s father might have pressured his son into an arranged marriage, but Haroon is super sassy and we are here for it. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to speak up — even when what he wants highly affects his son's future.

Haroon has a brief medical scare, but he’s back and going strong. Also, we're super happy he told Kash he could leave to be with Maya in New York.

Zara

Zara was Craig’s girlfriend. Then she was his ex-girlfriend, and not long after, she becomes his wife.

She comes off as a bit clingy at first, but her spirit is sweet, and she knows what she deserves (hence the reason she briefly cuts things off between her and Craig when she discovers his secret.)

Zara ends up going on a reality dating TV show that parodies Britain’s Love Island, an the results are hilarious. She eventually gets one elaborate wedding. She also discovers that her family of two is becoming a family of three.

Bryce

Bryce is Ainsley's recently-divorced client whom she helps decorate a home for. Did we mention he's kind of great?

While at first Ainsley and Bryce have a strictly professional relationship, their walls start to fall down and they can't help but fall for each other. Bryce knows what he wants in life, though, and when Ainsley becomes unsure, he knows it's best to take a step back.

Thankfully, this tension doesn't last forever. We're one-hundred percent here for a wedding between Bryce and Ainsley.

Kash

Kash is an investment banker who secretly wants to be an actor. He tells Maya this when they first encounter each other and eventually decides to chase after his dreams. Go, Kash!

That being said, he did leave Ainsley at the altar, and while we don’t blame him for following his heart, doing so was kind of embarrassing. It would have been much more helpful had he thought through his marriage before he was asked to say “I do.” It would have spared Ainsley a ton of hurt.

He cares a lot about the people around him, but unfortunately, his romance with Maya causes lots of tension, specifically for his ex-fiancée.

Gemma

Gemma is a British housewife who happens to be Ainsley’s neighbor. She is at first jealous of the relationship Maya and Ainsley have, but it’s only because she values genuine connection.

During Ainsley’s wedding to Kash, Gemma decides to ditch the scripture reading in favor of an elaborate musical number. So while she might have partially done this to out-do Maya, we’re totally a fan of her level of extra.

Also, three cheers for the romance between her and Duffy! The cuteness is unreal.

Basheer

Though Kash’s friend Basheer had limited screen time at first, we think he’s funny as anything and we're so glad when he got more screen time.

In one early episode, Kash goes on a date with Fatima at a mall after deciding to consider an arranged marriage. He shows up only to learn that he was supposed to have brought a chaperone along, so he calls Basheer to fulfill the role.

Basheer hits it off with the other chaperone who is much more qualified than him, and the interaction is quite entertaining. Things get even better when Basheer hits it off with Fatima herself.

Ainsley

Rebecca Rittenhouse and Nathalie Emmanuel in Four Weddings and a Funeral Hulu

Ainsley is an interior designer who decides to get married to Kash even though she at first doesn’t believe it’s serious. Things don't work out. That being said, the experience helps her learn a lot about herself. When her parents decide to quit funding her interior design business, she eventually gets the strength to let go of her useless employees and reevaluate things.

Additionally, Ainsley is an incredible friend and greets Maya at the airport with love and forgiveness even though she could have said “I told you so,” when Maya’s bad relationship finally ends. And lastly, did we mention Ainsley dressed up as Buttercup from The Princess Bride for her 30th birthday party? How iconic is that?

Craig

Craig is Kash’s office-mate and a successful investment banker. He is in a relationship with Zara, though as mentioned, their journey to marriage was one long and rocky road.

While Craig might not always make the right choices, we love his dedication to the daughter he learned he had. He was a soccer dad creeper for a little too long, but thankfully his daughter's mother cleared things up and introduced him to his child.

With that new relationship as well as his and Zara's baby on the way, Craig has a lot to look forward to.

Maya

Four Weddings and a Funeral Trailer

Maya is a political speechwriter who finds herself mixed up in an affair with the man she works for. After removing herself from the situation, she scouts out a new job but is constantly colliding with politicians who can only see her “scarlet letter."

Maya’s strength, despite the difficult circumstances, is to be admired, as well as her willingness to evaluate life. Early on, she runs into Kash who helps her track down her luggage at an airport, and the two spill their deepest secrets to each other. Though Maya's journey has been long, filled with both job and relationship struggles, she's almost at the finish line. We're rooting for her all the way.

Duffy

Coming out on top is none other than Duffy — an English teacher who aspires to be a novelist. Although his book is way too long, it's nice to see someone so passionate about something. He’s also pretty endearing in the way he interacts with his students, friends, and Gemma — whom he takes a liking to after finally getting over his ten-year-long crush on Maya. It's hard not to want them to be together when you see how much he cares about her.
