Apple TV+ released the Foundation trailer giving the world its first glance of this brave adaptation. This Apple TV+ original is based on the award-winning sci-fi novel series of the same title. The original trilogy was written by Isaac Asimov and published in the early 1950s. It has had a significant impact on the sci-fi genre and served as a great inspiration for Star WarsWhile many attempts have been made, this is the first adaptation of the trilogy to make it to the small screen.

At WWDC20, Apple TV+ released the Foundation trailer that is more immersive than a typical promo. Showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer brings viewers behind the scenes to witness not only the world of the TV show, but the inspiration behind it and the hard work that has gone into it. Several characters are then introduced in a climactic sequence of events, including Hari Seldon (Jared Harris), who hints at having a special ability that the government fears.

During the trailer, Goyer explains that Apple TV+ is the perfect home for the adaptation. Along with Goyer and Apple TV, Josh Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross and Skydance Television are listed as producers. In addition to Emmy-nominated actor Harris, Lou Llobel, Leah Harvey, Lee Pace, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton star in the show, some of whom are featured in the trailer.

Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.
