Season 6 of Fortnite has made some big changes to the map including populating it with various forms of wildlife. From wolves to frogs, players will encounter wild animals while exploring the newly renovated battle royale. Not only will players need to eliminate them to stay safe, but animals can also be hunted for valuable resources that players can use to craft weapons and equipment.

Each new season of Fortnite adds a game-changing mechanic that players have to adapt their playstyle to and that adds another layer to the robust battle royale experience. Season 5 populated the map with friendly NPCs that radically altered how Fortnite is played, and Season 6 has added to the island's inhabitants by throwing in some animals. However, these animals aren't as easy to find as the NPCs as they don't always spawn in the same places. This guide will teach players where they can find wild animals in Fortnite Season 6.

Finding Wildlife In Fortnite Season 6

Fortnite Season 6's Primal Wolves with yellow eyes, running away

Players will need to find and kill Fortnite's new wildlife in order to complete challenges and collect valuable upgrade components. However, they aren't always the easiest to locate because of their random spawn locations. Like Fortnite Season 3's Marauders, animals will spawn randomly around the map so players can't depend on them to be in the same location every match. Wolves, warthogs will spawn in sparsely populated areas away from larger POIs and will attack players on sight. Chickens will spawn in similar areas but also on the outskirts of landmarks and POIs. And frogs will spawn on the shore near bodies of water. Each animal has a different amount of health and will drop different amounts of Animal Bones and meat.

Luckily, wolves and chickens are fairly loud animals which makes them easier to locate for players who are on the hunt. Wolves will howl loudly when they see a player or when the sun sets, and chickens cluck constantly making them easy to pinpoint. As well, wolves can have different rarities similar to Loot Sharks and will drop more items the rarer they are. Wolves will not only attack players but will attack chickens and warthogs which makes it easier for players to pick them off while they're distracted.
