It appears that the next crossover in Fortnite will be based on Disney’s Tron franchise, as discovered by dataminers. Season 5 in the game is all about crossover characters and bounty hunters from across the multiverse, and the most recent one has landed on the Battle Island today.

Flash, the famous speedster from DC Comics, has just arrived in Fortnite alongside a dedicated Flash Cup tournament. The addition of the superhero was predicted a couple of days ago when famous leaker iFireMonkey reported on his discovery. According to the insider, Flash was about to join the battle on February 10, while the actual skin of the character was clearly inspired by Grant Gustin’s appearance and costume from the CW’s Flash TV Show. All the information revealed by the leaker was later officially confirmed via an announcement by Epic Games.

Even though Flash is not even available in the Item Shop yet, there might be another big crossover on the horizon. As revealed by popular Fortnite dataminer and leaker Hypex, there’s an image of a portal and an audio file associated with it discovered in the game’s client. The portal is very reminiscent of a structure from the Tron sci-fi franchise, more specifically, from the latest movie Tron: Legacy. Codenamed as Mainframe portal, this leaked structure hints at an obvious Tron crossover, which is likely to be officially announced soon. The image literally represents the Grid - the area of the Tron digital world. Additionally, the audio file contains background music, which would’ve perfectly fit the Legacy’s soundtrack composed by Daft Punk. While there’s no word on which character exactly might be used for a crossover skin, an accompanying glider cosmetic should definitely be the Light Cycle.

If true, a yet-unrevealed Tron character will join an already rich roster of crossover heroes in Fortnite. Iconic characters from well-established IPs and franchises are invading the game in Season 5, which is focused on borrowing famous bounty hunters from across the multiverse. Players have already taken advantage of Halo’s Master Chief, God of War’s Kratos, and even Terminator’s T-800. The flagship of Season 5 was the Mandalorian, who many hail as the latest pop culture phenomenon thanks to the character’s stellar popularity within and outside the Star Wars community.

While it’s all but certain that the recently datamined information hints at a Tron crossover, there’re not too many iconic characters in the franchise who could be selected for Fortnite. It is worth noting, though, that Tron belongs to Disney, and the company runs a successful collaboration with Epic Games’ Fortnite. This partnership could’ve simply forced Epic to prepare a Tron crossover. Still, the devs could present Rinzler, the character from Tron: Legacy, as a potential bounty hunter. Additionally, he can be delivered in two skin variants - Rinzler and Tron.
