A new limited-time mode, called Tilted Taxis, has landed in Fortnite and it more or less turns players into Uber drivers. This comes as an additional way of experiencing the recently added vehicles, which were introduced via the Joy Ride update.

Cars were added to Fortnite at the beginning of August to most players’ delight. A total of four vehicle types started roaming the roads and valleys of Battle Island adding a whole new layer to the already feature-packed battle royale experience. They’ve also introduced a never before seen complexity in terms of new mechanics such as the need to refuel at gas stations. Once damaged, cars could also leak the precious driving liquid, which serves as a way of preventing vehicles from being too OP. Interestingly, a taxi variant was among the freshly added means of transportation, which led to players cosplaying as cab drivers.

Now, being an Uber driver in Fortnite has become official thanks to a new limited-time mode called Tilted Taxis. As detailed by Epic, players will spawn as cabdrivers and compete to be the most efficient one in picking up and dropping off passengers. The rules are fairly simple and straightforward. Contestants can earn points by completing transportation orders, and the longer the requested distance is, the more valuable it will be score-wise. At the same time, it’s not that boring and repetitive since passengers can ask for additional tasks that perfectly reflect the fun nature of Fortnite (and also provide additional points). Players will be asked to ram rival taxi drivers, perform various stunts, or reach the destination point without a single scratch on the cab.

In order not to distract players from the exciting taxi action, refuelling won’t be a thing in this LTM as vehicles are granted infinite gas. Additionally, cab drivers won’t be forced to stay behind the steering wheel at all times if they don’t want to. If players feel like getting out of cars and shooting enemies fits the situation, they can absolutely embark on this regular chaotic action. Judging by a plethora of gameplay videos containing the Tilted Taxis footage on YouTube, players are already having lots of fun in the recently-introduced mode, which is at risk of becoming another fan-favorite LTM.

It is inspiring to see that Epic continues to introduce new ways of experiencing and enjoying Fortnite despite the fact that the game has already received a huge portion of new content with the start of Chapter 2 Season 4. It is especially valuable considering the fact that the closest competitors on the battle royale market are also trying its best to engage their communities with new features and additions. At the end of the day, players are the ones who win the most from this tight competition, which is driving the progress.
