Fortnite has begun teasing yet another licensed character that will join the game's ever-growing roster of licensed characters, and this time around it is teasing a crossover with Terminator via a new portal's sneaky movie easter egg. Fortnite has used various portals throughout Season 5 to tease the arrival of additional bounty hunters, and the cyborg assassin from 2029 may be the next character to come through one this latest dimensional rift.

Season 5 of Fortnite has followed the story of Agent Jonesy, a member of the Imaginary Order, who has been tasked with protecting The Island's Zero Point. In order to pull this off, Jonesy has enlisted the help of various bounty hunters including The Mandalorian, Master Chief, and Kratos. Throughout the season, Jonsey has traveling between realities to recruit these hunters, and in order to do so has been leaving a trail of portals on Fortnite's island. When standing at the right angle, players can see into these portals to get a glimpse of the world on the other side.

The newest portal to be added to Fortnite gives players a look inside of a silver-colored room with a large vault door. In a video from notable Fortnite data miner and leaker HYPEX, the image from the portal is compared to still frames from the film Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The vault doors, lighting setups, and color schemes are near-identical to one another, making it highly probable that Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic Terminator and/or Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor will be the next licensed skin(s) to make it into this season of bounty hunters.

The Terminator is by definition a cyborg assassin making him a perfect fit for this season. The recent addition of Predator makes it even more likely that a gritty action movie icon from the '80s could make its way into Fortnite. Epic Games has normally stuck to family-friendly crossovers in the past with Marvel, DC, and Star Wars, but Fortnite Season 5 has already had quite a few R-rated crossovers.

Fortnite's core player base may not be all that fond of dated action flicks, but it's still cool to see these characters make their way into one of the most popular video games of all time. And while crossover characters were seemingly limited to PG-13 content, these new additions break down those walls and make way for more ambitious crossovers. If Predator can make his way into Fortnite, why can't Robocop?
