Fortnite's next batch of guest characters could include the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Epic’s massively successful online multiplayer battle royale title has seen plenty of guest appearances from across gaming, comics, television, and movies over the years, from Star Wars’ resident bounty hunter Boba Fett to the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man of Marvel Comics fame. The most recent wave of Fortnite crossover content consisted of skins from the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, which streamed its fourth season on December 31.

Meanwhile, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always been a powerhouse when it comes to tie-in video games, and the last few years have been no exception. Characters like Leonardo, Donatello, and April O’Neal were among the many 90s-era kids show icons present in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl when it launched in October, and the pizza-munching Heroes In A Half-Shell are set to return to their side-scrolling beat-em-up roots in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge later this year. Before that, it looks like the mean, green, teenage team of Leo, Donnie, Mikey, and Raph could be partying their way onto Fortnite if a recent leak is to be believed.

Shepshal Nick of the XboxEra podcast (via The Gamer) recently shared some intriguing insider information that suggests that Paramount (the current owner of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise) has struck a deal with Epic Games to bring some of its characters into Fortnite. The first wave of these characters is said to consist of the Turtles themselves, but Nick also speculated that since he was first told of this news while discussing the upcoming live-action Halo series on Paramount+, it’s possible that a new version of Master Chief could be coming to Fortnite as well.

Fortnite recently launched Chapter 3 in December, which added the aforementioned Spider-Man to the Island alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s The Foundation and a treasure trove of new features and a completely reworked game map. Recent leaks suggest that Epic could be adding a “No Build” mode to Fortnite in 2022, which will take the game’s famous base-building mechanics out of the equation and give players a more traditional battle royale experience.  In the meantime, players have uncovered Easter Eggs that hint at more Marvel characters joining the fun in Fortnite, including the X-Men and Spider-Man’s infamous nemesis, the Green Goblin.

While Paramount’s supposed deal with Epic Games to allow its characters to be included as guest characters hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, the fun-loving and high-flying Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would certainly be a good fit for the zany and colorful world of Fortnite. Even outside of the brothers themselves, the TMNT franchise is home to plenty of great characters Epic could mine for new playable Fortnite skins, from old fan-favorites like Casey Jones and The Shredder to contemporary faces like Alopex and Jennika. Of course, fans will have to wait for further word of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles appearing in Fortnite, but with The Shredder’s Revenge launching later this year, the timing couldn’t be better.
