[Update: Tyler "Ninja" Blevins was originally thought to be quitting Fortnite entirely over stream sniping, but the streamer has clarified that he will "always play to some capacity" in a tweet:

The original story with update detailed that reflect this new information continues below.]

Tyler "Ninja" Blevins may be moving on from Fortnite over stream snipers, the game that garnered him his initial streaming fame, though he won't be quitting entirely. After a series of stream snipes in his last casual dabble with the sandbox title, he went on a rant that disavowed the game and stream snipers.

Blevins' streaming career kicked off a little over seven years ago, but he rose to prominence on Twitch as a prolific Fortnite streamer, eventually becoming one of the most recognizable and successful streamers in the world. He's credited with bringing Fortnite even greater success, and was eventually immortalized in-game with his very own official custom skin. At the height of his extremely lucrative career, Blevins was frequently associated with Fortnite and vice versa, and his fanbase expanded by leaps and bounds during his tenure as a competitive Fortnite streamer.

However, Blevins' Fortnite career eventually came to an end, and after signing an exclusive deal with Twitch, he moved on to other competitive games like Valorant and League of Legends, while also looking to expand his horizons into voice acting and other ventures. Although he no longer plays Fornite competitively, he does still eventually wander back into the game to play casually on stream. But a recent streamed session, which was captured and reposted by thatdenverguy on YouTube (via Dexerto), saw a few players looking for bragging rights reportedly stream-sniping Blevins four consecutive times. It was enough to prompt the former Fortnite star to disavow the game's player base, and to announce he would no longer stream any of his casual Fortnite sessions, so as not to give stream-snipers a platform or the attention they so clearly desire.

Blevins has cried wolf about stream snipers in the past, so it's easy to be skeptical of his claims, but he asserted in the stream that it was the same culprit behind all four snipes. It draws to attention what can be an unfortunate price of fame for many prolific streamers - they're going to be targeted more often, particularly by those just looking to capitalize on their fame with bragging rights, and it can ruin what was once a great gaming experience for those who earn a living streaming. Of course, this isn't especially easy to sympathize with considering just how much money Blevins pulls in from streaming, but that doesn't disqualify Blevins from his right to enjoy a casual round of Fornite in peace.

So while the presence of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins on Fortnite may no longer be streamed (at least for now), that's a decision that will hopefully accomplish exactly that - a chance to forget about views, forget about fame, and just have fun in game without worrying about being stream sniped for bragging rights.
