With Fortnite introducing a brand new chapter this season, many new in-game items and weaponry have been added. Chapter 3 Season 1 saw the return of the Foundation, revealed to be played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is soon to be an unlockable skin in the battle pass. This season's battle pass also introduced Spider-Man into the battle royale, with his classic web-shooters being added into the game's sandbox.

Although only playable in Fortnite's competitive arena mode for a few hours, many fans were able to get a sneak peek into a new mechanic Epic secretly added into the game: web-swinging. The web-shooters will be fully released on December 11, alongside the release of the highly anticipated Marvel film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The item appears to be only available by purchasing it from vendors, but that may change when Epic decides to release it into the other game modes. Available for the fairly expensive price of 400 gold bars, web-shooters are currently available for sale by NPCs in areas like Camp Cuddle, Greasy Grove, and The Joneses.

There are a ton of tricks and capabilities of this new item in Fortnite. Unlike Marvel's AvengersFortnite's web-swinging grants a ton of new mobility into the game, allowing players to have unlimited swinging throughout the game, though it does have a cooldown to prevent players from spamming it in-game. It can be used to swing from just about any solid item in the game. From houses to trees, players can swing from place to place, smoothly with ease. Players can even attach themselves to cars and drift behind them. It's an extremely fun mechanic that has been welcomed by the fans.

Spider-Man's Web-Shooters Compared: Is Fortnite Or Marvel's Avengers Better?

Many fans of both Fortnite and Spider-Man have flocked to social media to point out how smooth the web-swinging feels in-game, as well as comparing it to the recent Spider-Man DLC for Marvel's Avengers. A majority of fans have said that the web-swinging in Fortnite, of all games, is better than that of Marvel's Avengers, which, according to fans, feels way more clunky. Although it's not on the level of Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man, Fortnite's web-shooters make swinging extremely smooth, while the transition animations from swinging to jumping to landing are very clean, unlike that of Marvel's Avengers.

With Marvel and Fortnite's previous collaborations in the past, it would make sense for Epic to include a good amount of Spider-Man items just in time for the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Epic does not plan to stop with the Spider-Man goodies, though, as many fans have noticed some teases to characters like Green Goblin making an appearance in the battle royale.
