The beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 brought a number of Marvel heroes to the game's roster, but the fun is only just beginning as the Silver Surfer skin has been leaked. Players who purchase the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass will have the opportunity to unlock nine different Marvel heroes already, but much like the previous season, there is still a lot more to come.
Fortnite has made it a habit to include skins in the item shop that relate to the season they are in. Chapter 2 Season 2 featured Deadpool as a part of the Battle Pass, and later saw a set of three X-Force skins make their way into the item shop. Season 3 was no different as it featured Aquaman as its mascot, and later his archnemesis, Black Manta, appeared in the shop. There are also various original Fortnite skins that appear in the item shop that relate to the season. With Season 4 being Marvel themed, players can expect to see more superheroes and villains up for sale.
And one of those has already been revealed to be the Silver Surfer. According to Fire Monkey, a notable Fortnite data miner and leaker, the Silver Surfer will be shredding his way into the Fortnite item shop as a bundle including his skin, surfboard, pickaxe, and Herald's Star back bling. He will also come with a weapon skin called "Reflector" which turns weapons and vehicles chrome colored. The files for the bundle were originally encrypted, but skillful miners were able to crack the code.
Silver Surfer's appearance in-game makes a lot more sense than players might think. Fortnite Season 4 follows a similar storyline to Thor comic produced by Donny Cates and Nic Klein. In this comic, Thor is the new herald of Galactus and leads the devourer or worlds to planets that he can consume in order to defeat the Black Winter. The Silver Surfer was a previous herald of Galactus hence his in-game back bling being named the Herald's Star. With Silver Surfer and Thor both having been heralds of Galactus, it makes more sense for him to be included in this season than other Marvel heroes.
But, that is not to say that other heroes won't make it into this season of Fortnite. A lot more can be added to the game over the course of nine weeks, and the most recent seasons have proved that. The heroes and villains that enter the fray probably won't be limited to Marvel characters either. With Fortnite Season 4 being completely taken over by a franchise, there is sure to be a plethora of character skins released over the next few months.
