There are a few different ways to get the Shield Keg in Fortnite. Shield Kegs have a chance to drop when players open treasure chests. Since the contents of what's inside are random, it's not the most consistent method. There are also a few NPCs around the map that will sell Shield Kegs. After earning gold in Fortnite, it can be used to purchase weapons, duels, assists, or healing items. Players can purchase Shield Kegs specifically from Lt. John Llama. During matches, he will appear near Logjam Lumberyard and Sanctuary.
Buying A Shield Keg in Fortnite
The Shield Keg in Fortnite will cost players 250 gold to purchase. If players have extra gold, it's recommended to grab this weapon right at the start of the match. The best thing to do would be to land directly in Logjam Lumberyard. This area is full of wood, allowing players to grab materials. However, this is a Fortnite Named Location, which makes foot traffic fairly heavy.
When landing in a named location like Logjam Lumberyard, players will want to make sure they grab a weapon as quickly as possible. At least at this point, it's possible to defend against an incoming attack. Players will need to keep in mind that they are still vulnerable to attacks even if they are speaking with an NPC. They will need to be quick to get through all of John Llama's menus and complete the transaction to get a Shield Keg.
