One of the challenges survivors are tasked with during the Resistance questline in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is "Plant Wiretaps to Monitor IO Communications." To aid their allies, The Seven, in gaining valuable intel from the enemy, players must place Wiretaps in specific locations within IO-controlled territory. Therefore, fans will need to be extra careful when venturing through these areas as they will be attacked on-site by the enemy.
The process of planting Wiretaps in Fortnite is conducted identically to the challenge of Week 8 in Season 7. First, players must locate a glowing holographic-like image where the device is to be placed. Next, they must approach the designated spot and hold the displayed key or button to set up the gadget. Fortnite fans can know when they've successfully planted Wiretaps when The Imagined makes a whimsical comment to the player. To monitor the IO's communications effectively, The Seven will need Fortnite survivors to place down a total of three Wiretaps near the enemy landmarks.
The first location Fortnite players can place down a Wiretap device is at the satellite tower slightly west of Command Cavern, in the mountainous, northwestern section of the map. The tower can be found along the mountainside west of the IO outpost in Fortnite. Approach the site and go up the short stairwell to the platform. The Wiretap can be planted to the left of the tent near a laptop on a small military crate.
Seven's Wiretaps Planting Locations In Fortnite
The next Wiretap location in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 can be found to the east of Command Cavern in The Fortress. While it's possible to run down the mountain to the second Wiretap's spot, players are recommended to use the Siege Cannons at Command Cavern to launch themselves into the sky and quickly arrive at The Fortress. Again, the quest device must be planted near the ramp on the western side of the massive aircraft.
The third and final location to place The Seven's Wiretap is at a small outpost dock near the lake east of Coney Crossroads. Like before, players can reach this location quickly by accessing the Fortnite Siege Cannons on the rooftop of The Fortress to glide over to the third Wiretap site. After arriving, approach the unnamed landmark from the eastern side to find the Wiretap's position on the ledge near the trapezoid-shaped shelter. For clarification, go to the side where the red crane is sitting. Next, turn south, go up the grassy hill, and look to the right to find where the device should be placed.
