Shortly after receiving its 17.50 update in preparation for its next season, a data miner has discovered and leaked new skins and cosmetics for Fortnite's season 8 battle pass. Fortnite has suffered data leaks over the recent months, and it seems that these data miners aren't going to stop rummaging through patch notes until the new season is officially here.

As a free-to-play battle royale title, microtransactions have played a vitally important role in Fortnite's short history. Though mostly free or earned from the battle bass, skins and cosmetics from crossover events and popular themed content featuring other popular media properties in Fortnite have been shown to excite players. This has kept Fortnite's platform profitable, and these microtransactions which include virtual accessories, exclusive emotes, and new skins are highly valued by players. Seeing that the final update has been released and Season 8 is around the corner, news about the battle pass from Fortnite or leakers was imminent.

Fortnite-dedicated Twitter account and well-known Fortnite news page HYPEX has once again shared a post featuring leaked details about Season 8 from an insider. While J Balvin, Gamora, Mecha Morty, and Joy skins have already been announced by Epic Games, the information claims that some of the cosmetics shown are from the upcoming Season 8, with one of them possibly being the starter skin. The starter pack is shown to be a part of the "Fallen Light" set. It includes a new character skin named D'ark, winged back bling, and a new pickaxe in the shape of a sword, possibly hinting that there will be a new grand event happening during Season 7's finale leading into Season 8. Fortnite players also believe that Kevin The Cube will return during the Season 7 finale event and set a possible new Egyptian theme for the game. This speculation was previously backed up by HYPEX, which might confirm the new starter pack's origin.

A few weeks ago, Kevin The Cube was seen at Ariana Grande's Fortnite concert in a new location during a montage. Unsure of why it was there, players are questioning if it was an easter egg or if Epic Games was hinting at the return of Kevin The Cube for the near-season finale. If true, players are expecting another server downtime after the aftermath of Fortnite's Season 7 closing event.

Fortnite's Season 8 release date is only a few weeks away with its Season 7's battle pass ending on September 12. As the new season usually goes live a few hours after the previous battle pass ends, players can expect Season 8 to start on September 13. With a few weeks away, however, Epic Games might reveal a few more surprises before the new season launches in Fortnite, so players are expected to keep their eyes peeled.
