Fortnite has had crossovers with nearly every franchise imaginable. The mega-popular battle royale shooter has seen the likes of pro athletes, superheroes, and everything in between make their way into the game. One major film franchise that's been notably absent from Fortnite up to this point is the Mad Max series. Fans have been hoping to see Max make his way to Fortnite for quite some time, but the time may be right now that Fortnite Season Six has finally rolled around.

The Mad Max film series follows Max Rockatansky, a former police officer whose family is killed by a biker gang as society begins to collapse due to war and resource shortages. As the series goes on, the world becomes more and more of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Eventually, all that remains of society are gangs and colonies of savages and scavengers who horde resources like water or gas. Max becomes a wanderer simply looking to survive. He helps those in need as he finds them, usually in his own self interest, but eventually does it because he cares for the people in need.

Fortnite recently kicked off Season Six of Chapter Two and its theme is Primal. Areas on the map have been changed to appear more like a prehistoric wasteland. Buildings on Fortnite's map have been transformed into huts and other similar structures, wild animals roam the map, sniper rifles have been replaced with bows and arrows, and players can now scavenge for resources and use them to craft weapons. Fortnite has introduced a lot of great themes over its many seasons, but Season Six's Primal theme may be the perfect one for a Mad Max crossover.

Fortnite's Primal Theme Is a Great Match For Mad Max

Fortnite Season Six Primal

Although Season Five's sandy map may have matched the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max a bit better than the current Fortnite map, Primal seems as good a theme as any for introducing Max into the game. The fact crafting has been introduced into Fortnite fits Mad Max perfectly, as the films feature scavengers who make whatever they need out of the resources and parts available to them. There's a lot of creative ways Epic Games could tie-in the new crafting mechanic with Mad Max, like by giving players the ability to find a car and use resources to transform it into Max's iconic ride.

Popular areas on Fortnite's map, like the Colosseum, now resemble something more like a stronghold or settlement camp. They share some similarities to popular locations from the Mad Max series, which make them great spots to put Max as a roaming NPC on the map, like the Mandalorian was during the Season Five. If Epic wanted to go all out with a Mad Max crossover, adding the Thunderdome into the game as a new Fortnite location would perfect. It would quickly become a hotspot for fire fights and it would be a great central location for players to find Max and accept missions or buy weapons from him, like Max's go-to sawed-off shot gun.

As of right now, there aren't any official plans announced for a Mad Max crossover in Fortnite, but that could change over the next few weeks. So far, the only crossover characters that have been introduced this season are Lara Croft and Raven, while Neymar will eventually be available in the coming weeks. There's no telling what Epic might have in store for Fortnite Season Six as there are likely still plenty of crossover characters that have yet to be announced. Hopefully, Mad Max is one of them.
