Week 15 of Fortnite Season 5 introduces a new Legendary challenge that requires players to duel NPCs around the map. The more NPCs that players duel the more XP they will earn, with players earning 50k experience points after they partake in five duels. Players can participate in 25 duels over the next week to earn up to 143k XP, but the most difficult part of this challenge is finding the NPCs players can duel.
Fortnite Season 5 introduced NPCs which are friendly characters around the map that players can interact with in all sorts of different ways. Players can purchase weapons or items, they can start bounties on other players, and they can even upgrade the players' weapons. Certain NPCs even have Mythic weapons which are extremely powerful due to their unique abilities. Other NPCs can be hired as bodyguards to protect the players. NPCs have a bunch of different uses, but this week's legendary quest has players going toe to toe with a few specific characters.
Where To Find NPC Duels In Fortnite Season 5
While players can fight every NPC in Fortnite Season 5, not every NPC can be dueled. Duels are enacted similar to how players would start a bounty. Players will approach the NPC and select the option to duel them for a chance to get a powerful weapon. Since not every NPC can be dueled, players will have to find the ones that can be. The map above shows the locations of all 7 NPC duel locations. Most of them are in hot drop locations which will make them harder to fight, but the NPCs at Dirty Docks and Timber Tent are far enough out of the way that not many enemy players will be around.
However, any NPC can be dangerous if the player lacks the right equipment. NPCs that players fight in duels will have more health and better aim than normal players. This can make them pretty annoying to take down, especially if the player is attempting to fight an NPC as soon as they drop from the Battle Bus. The best course of action is to land at a nearby location and loot up before attempting a duel. Also, players need to make sure they enact the duel through the NPCs menu, or else it won't count towards their total.
