In yet another bizarre addition to the Fortnite guest character lineup, data miners have discovered evidence that a character from Tron will soon appear in Fortnite. This follows recent additions of characters from The Terminator, Predator, and G.I. Joe - all franchises that reached their peak popularity decades before the birth of many of the game's target demographic. While it's plain to see Epic Games is interested in offering character skins all manner of players would be happy with, many of its recent additions seem aimed more at boomers than zoomers. If Epic is willing to include a character from Tron, of all films, how far can this trend realistically go?

Of course, this is all explained in-game in Fortnite, thanks to the arrival of the Zero Point. Following the epic Marvel crossover last season, the world of Fortnite has started to sprout portals to other realities. Agent Jonesy regularly dives into the portals to pull in so-called "hunters" that can be of use in the battle to maintain reality as it currently exists. Considering the Zero Point previously absorbed the entire game world at the end of Chapter One, that's probably a good goal for its inhabitants.

This season, Fortnite has added a slew of characters from movies, TV, and video games to its roster. Starting with everyone's favorite Mandolorian, players now have the chance to see Master Chief, Kratos, Snake Eyes, and Michonne all building walls to ward out The Storm. If Epic continues to accept any and all pitches for new character skins, as it seems to be now, here are a few even more unlikely characters that could conceivably end up in Fortnite's metaverse.

Ridiculous (But Possible) Fortnite Characters: He-Man

With Fortnite's focus fixed on nostalgic properties, why not bring in the champion of Eternia? There's a new He-Man Netflix series in the works, and some younger players may even be familiar with the universe, thanks to the successful She-Ra revival. The only issue is the image of He-Man holding an assault rifle might send some fans for a loop.

Ridiculous (But Possible) Fortnite Characters: Spike Spiegel

Perhaps someone more familiar with firearms would work better. Spike Spiegel of Cowboy Bebop fame may not be as nostalgic as He-Man for some, but he's certainly a main pillars of any Adult Swim fan's memory of the cartoon block's glory days. Granted, kids probably shouldn't seek out Spike's source material, but when The Predator is already in the game, that ship has sailed.

Ridiculous (But Possible) Fortnite Characters: Gargoyles' Goliath

If being kid-friendly is a problem, perhaps Epic should look to one of Disney's best (and more obscure) properties, the animated classic Gargoyles. Lead character Goliath has the voice of Keith David and a rad design that might attract a whole new generation to the tale of stone titans awakening every night to fight corrupt businessmen and characters from Shakespeare. He could even use his massive wings as a built-in glider!

Ridiculous (But Possible) Fortnite Characters: Buckaroo Banzai

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai with Peter Weller

The ultimate get for Epic Games, in terms of obscure, nerdy franchises, would be cinema's only physicist/neurosurgeon/test pilot/rock star, Buckaroo Banzai. Portrayed by Peter Weller in the cult-classic '80s film that bears his name, Buckaroo would likely be more than familiar with interdimensional travel and find no trouble making his way to the Battle Royale map in Fortnite. It would be a feat of legal wrangling, considering how many extension projects for Buckaroo Banzai haven't gotten off the ground, but the popularity of Epic's game may just be the ticket.

Ridiculous (But Possible) Fortnite Characters: Dog The Bounty Hunter

Dog the Bounty Hunter

Should Epic Games include real-life felon and reality TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman as a Fortnite skin? Almost assuredly not. Could it be the next logical step down the current rabbit hole Epic is exploring with its most popular franchise? Perhaps. After all, there are only so many nostalgic hunters to include in the game. Considering Epic is already at Tron, how far away could a hypothetical Fortnite update pitting Dog against the Tiger King really be?
