Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 has landed, confirming long-hinted rumors of an alien invasion on the battle royale island. Season 7 brings several new features, as players can abduct foes with flying saucers, use recon scanners, use new weapon technologies, and, of course, enjoy the host of alien characters added to the Fortnite cast. In addition to new characters humanoid and alien, fans will be delighted to see Rick and Morty have traveled to the Fortnite Island, and the Fortnite DC crossover continues with the addition of Superman. Each new character will have their own role to play in the protection of the island.
Fortnite is well-known for its crossover characters, creating a metaverse of sorts as the game expanded beyond original characters to include faces from popular IP. The standout example of this is the Fortnite Marvel crossover in Season 4, an event that brought Ironman, Thor, Groot, and many more Avengers into the Epic game. Soon to follow were characters that included The Mandalorian, God of War's Kratos and Halo's Master Chief, among others, as Agent Jonesy recruited from every corner of the galaxy to defeat Galactus. This left the island's Zero Point exposed, causing Fortnite to crossover into the DC Universe.
New characters in Fortnite correspond with the theme of each season. Season 6's theme, Primal, ushered out hi-tech superheroes in favor of bringing Lara Croft, FIFA player Neymar Jr., and Teen Titans' Raven to the island. Towards the end of each season, as the story wraps, Fortnite will start dropping clues about what's coming next, giving dedicated players insight into what's coming. Even as the story progresses and new characters are introduced, players can still see past characters running around the map, as once a skin is unlocked in Fortnite, it is permanently available for players to use.
All New Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 Characters
From purple aliens to humans to familiar faces, each new Fortnite character brings unique skins, wallpaper options, stickers and artifacts. As with previous seasons, some skins will be included with the Battle Pass, while others must be earned by completing missions throughout the season. Season 7 is also introducing customizable skin options, as collecting Alien Artifacts scattered throughout the map will unlock different head shapes, eye colors, skin patterns and more for new character Kymera. Fortnite has a penchant for bringing in more franchise characters as the season progresses, so it's likely this list will expand as fans get deeper into the story. Season 7 runs through Sept. 12, giving Epic Games approximately four months to usher in a galaxy of possibilities for its dedicated players.
