The Predator has finally landed in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 bringing with him an entire cosmetic set and Jungle Hunter Quests that are free to those who own this season's Battle Pass. Joining Jonesy's team of elite bounty hunters, the Predator skin set allows Fortnite players to take control of one of the most iconic intergalactic bounty hunters.
Every season following Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 has featured a "secret Battle Pass character." This is a licensed character that normally appears in the season's launch trailer and is teased throughout the season leading up to that skin's release. The skin is obtained by completing a series of challenges exclusive to Battle Pass owners. However, in Predator's case, players were left to assume that The Mandalorian was this season's sole licensed Battle Pass skin, and that Fortnite Season 5 wouldn't have a "secret Battle Pass skin."
That was until last week when the Predator's pod crash-landed in Stealthy Stronghold, and a series of other teasers were released revealing that Fortnite Season 5 has more in store for players. Now, the Predator has emerged from his mysterious pod and is thirsty for blood. Along with the Predator appearing as a mini-boss in-game, players who own the Battle Pass have access to the new Jungle Hunter Quest challenges that reward players with various cosmetics including the Predator skin, back bling, pickaxe, and emote. Similar to other mini-bosses, the Predator also introduces a powerful new item that will spice up combat. The Predator's Cloaking Device is a utility that is dropped when players eliminate the Predator mini-boss at Stealthy Stronghold. This device is a utility item that allows players to turn invisible for 30 seconds much like the Predator's signature ability in the movies. In order for Battle Pass owners to claim their free skin, they will have to go toe-to-toe with the Predator who is as fierce in Fortnite as he was against Arnold Schwarzenegger.
With over a month to go before the end of Fortnite Season 5, there are still plenty of crossover characters to come. Many fans are speculating that Laura Croft or The Terminator will make an appearance, but anything now is just icing on the cake for this season. The Mandalorian, Master Chief, and Kratos were enough to make this season memorable, but the addition of the Predator once again proves that Fortnite is willing to pull out all of the stops to make every season a great one.
