European buyers looking for a Nintendo Switch are about to get another option when the Fortnite Special Edition Nintendo Switch hit shelves next month. Fortnite is the most downloaded game on a Nintendo system after having been launched on the Switch in 2018, and the cartoon-style battle royale is arguably the most popular game in the world right now.

Limited edition consoles are nothing new to gaming. Larger franchises team up with console creators to produce special consoles all the time. There are various Halo-themed Xbox systems. Sony is already planning a ridiculous 24K gold PS5. And Nintendo has released a few other limited edition Switch consoles. including one very aesthetically pleasing Animal Crossing Switch. This is not Fortnite's first console crossover as a Fortnite Special Edition Xbox One S features a purple and black gradient, and a Fortnite PlayStation 4 bundle was released but only featured an in-game skin.

The Fortnite Limited Edition Nintendo Switch, however, is a gorgeous mash-up of both Nintendo and battle royale. According to Nintendo Life, the Fortnite Switch comes with blue and yellow joy-cons with one featuring a small Battle Bus over the home button. The back of the Nintendo Switch and the Switch's dock feature icons of Fortnite's most beloved characters either in a darker gray or white. Additionally, the bundle comes codes for exclusive in-game skins, back blings, and 2,000 v-bucks. Finally, Fortnite is also pre-installed on each console.

As of right now, the Fortnite Special Edition Nintendo Switch is limited to Europe, Australia, and New Zeland. It releases in Europe on October 30th and in Australia/New Zeland on November 6th. The Australian consoles have a suggested retail price of $469.95 AU, but no price has been announced for Europe as of this writing. Hopefully, the Fortnite Nintendo Switch makes its way west as American Nintendo Switch buyers won't want to miss out on such a beautiful console.

Whether gamers are a fan of Fortnite or not, it's undeniable that the Fortnite Special Edition Nintendo Switch is gorgeous. Nintendo does a fantastic job of making its limited-edition consoles look fun and elegant by adding just the right amount of detail. Some Switch consoles, like the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate console, may seem a little lackluster by comparison, but the Fortnite Switch is one that will be hard to pass up. Even with the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro supposedly coming out sometime next year, the look of the Fortnite Nintendo Switch may take priority over more computing power.
