Now in the fourth season of Chapter 2, Fortnite has been keeping players busy with new challenges, featured characters, and items. To keep players on their toes, Fortnite has partnered with Star Wars to promote their new multiplayer starfighter game with the help of a rare glider that players can obtain to show off their Jedi prowess in Fortnite’s Battle Royale. Gliders can be used to transport a player around the map, to either help them complete challenges or get a better vantage point to come out on top in the battle royale. These gliders can be used after jumping from the Battle Bus or when using Launch Pads. Some gliders are also rideable, but this depends on the type. There have been other Star Wars gliders available during other promotional events. Players can purchase unique cosmetic items such as these gliders through the store using V-Bucks. To get more V-Bucks, either purchase them using real-world currency or by progressing through the Free Pass and Battle Pass.
How to Get the X-Wing Glider in Fortnite
To equip the Star Wars X-Wing Glider, players will have to purchase it for 1,200 V-Bucks in the in-game store. Players can also obtain the glider by buying Star Wars: Squadrons. They will have to wait until October 2 to play the game, but pre-orders will allow players to use the X-Wing while they anticipate the release of Star Wars: Squadrons. Once the game has been purchased, players can log into Fortnite to collect their reward. Star Wars: Squadrons allows players to complete dogfights in different locations and fighters to live out their dreams of becoming a starfighter pilot.
If players jumped the gun and purchased the X-Wing glider in the in-game store and then pre-ordered Star Wars: Squadrons, the 1,200 V-Bucks will be credited to their account. This isn’t the first time that Epic Games has partnered with Star Wars for events and items. Events have been held featuring J.J. Abrams, the director of the Star Wars movies. There have also been Star Wars themed cosmetic items like skins, emotes, and other gliders available for purchase during important events.
Now that players can glide into the battle royale with style, they can easily take out enemies and practice their flying skills before Star Wars: Squadrons officially comes out. Keep an eye out for other promotional items that may become available in the in-game store leading up to October 2.
