A hidden Easter Egg has many Marvel fans once again suspecting that Miles Morales could be swinging into Fortnite as a guest playable skin. Epic’s massively popular battle royale game has seen several special appearances from Marvel Comics over the past few years, with one of the most noteworthy examples being Peter Parker’s debut at the beginning of Chapter 3, Season 1. Doctor Strange found his way into Fortnite in Season 2, and recent rumors have hinted that Mary Jane and Moon Knight could be joining Fortnite’s roster soon as well.

Meanwhile, Miles Morales has been making a splash in the gaming world as of late, thanks to Insomniac’s critically-acclaimed line of Marvel's Spider-Man games. In the Ultimate Marvel comic continuity, Miles gained incredible powers from a spider-bite just as Peter Parker had, and took up the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter perished in battle against the Green Goblin. He soon became a popular hero in his own right, eventually crossing over into the mainstream 616 universe and securing his place among a new generation of superheroes. In the Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man games, players got to play as and alongside Miles Morales, using those powers alongside a still-alive Peter Parker.

Previous rumors have suggested that Miles Morales could be added to Fortnite, and now prominent Fortnite leaker Shiina noticed another clue within the dialogue of another guest character - more particularly his uncle the Prowler, who was added in Season 2 alongside the aforementioned Doctor Strange. During one of Prowler's questlines, he says "You're on your way. Just keep going,” which is a line he tells Miles in the movie Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Fellow Twitter user Justin_Neagle later posted a clip of Prowler speaking the line in question in the movie, just after he is fatally shot by the Kingpin for refusing to kill Miles. The unexpected reference to this dramatic moment has many Fortnite players now wondering if Miles could be coming to Fortnite as a playable character skin.

Miles Morales’s most recent and noteworthy appearance in a video game was 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a spin-off title to Marvel’s Spider-Man that put players in the role of the young web-slinger as he takes his first steps toward becoming a masked protector of New York City. He will be playable once again in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, where he will team up with Peter to take on new villains like Venom and Kraven The Hunter. Even in games that Miles doesn’t appear in, such as Marvel’s Avengers, players find ways to recreate his unique black-and-red costumed and special Venom powers and camouflage abilities.

These abilities would make Miles Morales an interesting character to play in Fortnite, and the young Spider-Man is as popular as ever due to his many recent appearances in Insomniac's Marvel-based video games and other media. So far, Epic has yet to confirm that Miles Morales will be swinging into Fortnite anytime soon, but Prowler’s cryptic reference to his tragic final moment with his nephew could be a sign that he’s the next Marvel hero to take a swing through The Island.
