A new leak has revealed that Fortnite could be getting Darth Vader and other Star Wars skins in the future. Epic Games’ popular battle royale game has seen a resurgence over the past few weeks thanks to its latest game mode, with statistics showing that Fortnite’s Zero Build Mode is its most popular since the Primal update was released last year. The new game mode, which started out as a change to its standard playlist as part of the launch of Chapter 3 Season 2 and eventually released as a standalone mode, removes the game’s core building mechanic and makes players focus on their positioning, movement, and shooting more than before.

Fortnite has added a myriad of crossover skins to the game over the past few years. Epic Games has collaborated with a large number of IPs, including movies, TV shows, and other video games, to not only add more interesting skins to the game but to also sometimes promote the latest release of the partnered IP. Most recently, Fortnite added a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skin to seemingly promote the latter’s latest Dawn of Ragnarok expansion, which was released just last month.

Fortnite influencer iFireMonkey posted a screenshot revealing that Fortnite could be getting a Darth Vader skin along with potentially other Star Wars skins in Chapter 3 Season 3. The screenshot comes from a segment of the Epic Games State of Unreal showcase which showed the intro cinematic for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 being edited on a computer. According to iFireMonkey, the second monitor in the shot shows several folders with labels such as “C3S3_VADER,” which could translate to “Chapter 3 Season 3 Vader.” Some of the other folders that can be seen in the screenshot include one supposedly labeled “Chapter 3 Season 3 Jones,” another called “Family Guy,” one called “Doom,” and more. It was previously rumored late last year that a Fortnite and Doom crossover could be coming in the future.

The spotted folders don’t really confirm whether Epic Games has any concrete plans on making and releasing skins for those properties. However, at least some of them, such as Doom, have been previously leaked or rumored. So, it’s still possible that they’ll be coming to Fortnite in the future.

With Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 still a few months away from launch, fans will have to wait a while before these leaks can be confirmed. Nonetheless, the prospect of getting more Star Wars skins in the game is definitely exciting. And getting a Darth Vader skin in Fortnite sounds especially great.
