Fortnite is a game rife with crossovers, and the newest, with the Jordan brand, brings in a brand-new jump mode event. Though the game's crossovers are usually more pop-culture-focused—November 25th saw the addition of a Nick Fury skin to Fortnite, for example—the game has become so big that its sphere of influence extends beyond entertainment media and into various other aspects of life, including fashion.

This isn’t the first time Fortnite has worked with big names—far from it, in fact. Some popular musicians like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande have performed virtual concerts in the game, producing some of the most-viewed content in gaming history. There have been all sorts of collaborations between Fortnite and top brands, including past collaboration with the Air Jordan fashion company back in 2019. Just last month, even, Epic Games announced a Fortnite partnership with Moncler, a French fashion company specializing in coats, jackets, and winter clothing, to bring two outfits inspired by Moncler into the game, as well as other items. Fortnite continues to work with brands both new and old to provide players with new ways to look and play.

Now, Epic Games has announced another crossover with Jordan Brand, and this one brings in new events as well as outfits. The new crossover content can be seen in a video on the Fortnite YouTube page. Starting December 1st at 7 PM ET, players can enter the “Jumpman Zone,” a new area with portals to take players to a new set of quests that will net them experience and rewards. An in-game scavenger hunt will reward players with a new skin based around the Air Jordan XI "Cool Grey" shoes, which are set to release on December 11th. Players will then unlock MVP rooms, which include a museum dedicated to past Air Jordan releases, a basketball court, and an immersive video showcasing the Air Jordan XI "Cool Grey.” Like the Balenciaga hoodie skin collaboration just a couple of months back, Fortnite continues to stay on top of the latest fashion trends.

As well as the Jumpman Zone, this collaboration includes trickshot challenges which, when successfully completed, allow access to special variants of the Hangtime and Swish outfits, which will be available in the in-game store as soon as the Jumpman Zone launches. Completing 12 or more trickshot challenges by December 4th at 2 PM ET will give players the “Deep In The Paint” spray, and a Hall of Fame room will offer even tougher challenges for those looking to really test their skills. The Jumpman Zone will be highlighted in the lead-up to the release of the shoes on the 11th, but will remain accessible afterward with entry of a code.

Fortnite’s popularity ensures that it will continue to collaborate with top brands to bring in even more fans. A recent leak suggests that Neo and Trinity skins from The Matrix are coming this month in anticipation of the new movie Matrix: Resurrections, and with plenty more media announced through 2022, Fortnite will have plenty of opportunities to promote itself along with other big brands. This is likely not the last players will see of high fashion in Fortnite.
