Fortnite has unvaulted and brought back the Jetpack to its massively successful battle royale mode. After a small hotfix, a few familiar items were added back to Fortnite's core game modes. These items include the infamous Jetpack, as well as the Egg Launcher item to celebrate the upcoming Easter holiday. It has been a while since players have seen the Jetpack, and this return of the item should once again add a layer to the newest season.

The Jetpack makes its return to Fortnite after first appearing at the end of Chapter 1. Since then, this coveted legendary-rarity item had been kept in the vault due to complaints from the player base about balance issues regarding the item's means of transportation. The Jetpack lets players soar to new heights, allowing the user to scale tall buildings, stop themselves from receiving fall damage, and escape from tough fights safely. Jetpacks were said to return to Fortnite in a leak last month.

After the latest hotfix, Fortnite announced that Jetpacks are back. However, to balance out the item's return, the Jetpack can only be found in specific parts of the map. Specifically, they can be found on the inner walls near one of the entrance doors. There are currently five locations where you can find these airships, but due to the in-game story happening this season, these airship locations are always changing and moving around at various times.

While Jetpacks are back in the game, there have been some tweaks as to how they work. Players can now strafe while hovering and aiming down the sights of their weapons. Along with Jetpacks, Fortnite has also added back the seasonal Egg Launcher just in time for Easter. The weapon works similar to the Grenade Launcher, except with a seasonal twist to its appearance. Lastly, Fortnite has also added Bouncy Eggs to the game for its seasonal Easter catalog of items. These items can only be found on the ground, and when consumed they restore shield as well as grant an anti-gravity effect to the user, preventing fall damage.

The newest season of Fortnite has already been a unique change of pace for the battle royale, and the addition of Jetpacks adds to that narrative. After Chapter 3 Season 2 debuted last month, it came with the biggest change the game has seen: the removal of building. This change, dubbed "Zero Build", saw the game remove its biggest mechanic for over a week. While the building has since returned to the core game mode, players now have the option to play the Zero Build mode separately. Along with the new season came new Fortnite skins, such as Dr. Strange, and more recently, Assassin's Creed's Eivor. This season is shaping up to be the most daring one the game has seen.
