Dr. Slone is once again in charge of the Legendary Quests in Week 8 of Fortnite Season 7, and, this week, players will need to infiltrate the IO. In previous seasons of Fortnite, Legendary Quests were unrelated to the larger story of the season and primarily served to give players alternative ways to earn more weekly XP. In Fortnite Season 7, Legendary Quests now also allow players to get involved with the story and help participate in the fight against the Alien Invasion based on the suggestions of multiple different Season 7 NPCs. Dr. Slone tends to lead these Legendary Quests, though there have been several weeks, like Week 7, where players aid a different character.
During Week 8 of Fortnite Season 7, after players receive Dr. Slone's orders from a payphone somewhere on the map, they will be asked to get an IO Guard's Access Card. Similar to Vault Keycards from previous Fortnite Chapter 2 seasons, players will need to completely defeat an IO Guard to get their access code. IO Guards can be found stationed around the map, but the easiest places to locate one will be inside Satellite Stations and at the secret bunker in the center of Corny Complex. Defeat an IO Guard to Get an Access Card in Fortnite Season 7
To get an Access Card in Fortnite Season 7, players will need to find and defeat at least one IO Guard. The IO Guards are typically found inside the buildings at the seven Satellite Stations around the Fortnite map. Players can also find a large concentration of IO Guards inside and under the main house and barn in the center of Corny Complex. If players use the storm cellar doors on the side of the red building, they should gain easy access to an underground IO bunker serving as the current headquarters. This location should give players plenty of targets to choose from.
Once players find an IO Guard, they will need to eliminate them. Any location containing IO Guards is also likely to contain good loot, like IO tech weapons, that should make the task easier. Players should be cautious, however, because more IO Guards can come to the aid of any IO Guard the player attacks, making the fight last longer and become more difficult. When an IO Guard falls, players should expect to find an Access Card.
All players must do to obtain the Access Card of a dead IO Guard in Fortnite Season 7 is approach and interact with the drop. This stage of the Legendary Quest should register as complete, and players can move on to the next stage, planting wiretaps at three key locations. For completing this challenge successfully, players will earn 45,000 XP toward their Season 7 Battle Pass.
