The prehistoric huntress Aloy of Horizon Zero Dawn has made her way into Fortnite as a purchasable cosmetic set, but she comes with an additional Ice Hunter variant that is only available to some players. The Ice Hunter variant depicts Aloy wearing the Banuk Ice Hunter armor from the first installment in the series, and Aloy's Fortnite crossover is likely to promote Horizon Forbidden West which launches later this year.
Aloy is a part of the Gaming Legends series of skins which depict some of the most iconic characters of gaming history. Master Chief from Halo and Kratos from God of War were both introduced near the start of last season as the first gaming icons to make their way into Fortnite. These both came with their own special variants that are obtained in a similar fashion to the Ice Hunter Aloy skin. Here is how players can unlock Aloy's Ice Hunter variant in Fortnite.
How To Get Ice Hunter Aloy Skin In Fortnite
The basic Aloy skin can be purchased from Fortnite's Item Shop on any console for 1,500 V-Bucks, and the bundle that includes other Horizon Zero Dawn cosmetic items is offered at a discounted price of 2,200 V-Bucks. However, if a PlayStation 5 owner purchases the skins and plays one round of Fortnite on their current-gen console, they will receive the Ice Hunter Aloy variant for free. This variant is only available to PS5 players, but once unlocked it can be used with that account on any console. This also makes Ice Hunter Aloy one of the most expensive skins in Fortnite since players also have to own a $400-500 PS5 on top of spending $15 on V-Bucks.
The Aloy set also includes the Aloy's Spear pickaxe, Blaze Canister back bling, Glinthawk glider, and Heart-Rizon emote. In addition to the new cosmetics, Aloy and Lara Croft will be featured in a duos limited-time mode that forces players to use a pre-determined loadout. Lara Croft will have dual-wielded pistols while Aloy will be equipped with a Primal Bow. Competitors will harness the power of these two iconic female protagonists in an attempt to earn a Victory Royale. Epic Games and Sony also hosted a Horizon Zero Dawn tournament on April 14 with the top-performing competitors earning the Aloy cosmetic set for free.
