Fortnite's latest crossover is finally here, and this one's for the G.I. Joe fans as the battle royale announces over that Snake Eyes is the newest character to join Agent Jonesy's team of bounty hunters defending Fortnite's Zero Point, a black hole that leads to the center of reality. Snake Eyes follows a handful of other iconic heroes from other franchises, including Star Wars' Mandalorian and Grogu, God of War's Kratos, The Terminator's Sarah Connor, and more.

Snake Eyes has always been one of the franchise's most popular characters, so fans had an inkling that he may be joining Fortnite when the game's Twitter account teased a G.I. Joe character earlier this week. Developer Epic Games shared an audio clip of Agent Jonesy recruiting the character, mentioning codenames, and referencing a famous G.I. Joe quote. Moreover, the tweet referred to the mysterious recruit as a "Ninja Master," leading fans to expect Snake Eyes.

Fortnite confirmed suspicions with another tweet on Saturday introducing Snake Eyes to the game. "Name? Classified. Date of birth? Classified. Ninja Master? Verified," the tweet reads. The accompanying image shows Snake Eyes' classic uniform: a tight black skin suit covered in armor and weapon holsters, a black and silver helmet, and of course, his katana emblazoned with his iconic insignia. The Snake Eyes skin is available now in Fortnite's shop, including the outfit, a Katana Pickaxe, and matching Back Bling.

The celebration of Snake Eyes doesn't end there. The collaboration between G.I. Joe and Fortnite will also bring a new Snake Eyes action figure from Hasbro, based on the Snake Eyes Fortnite skin. The posable 6-inch figurine features Fortnite-inspired weapons, such as the Harpoon Launcher, Boogie Bomb, Grenade, Clinger, Chiller Grenade, Submachine, and Mythic Shockwave Launcher. The action figure is available for pre-order now for $39.99, but it's not set to be released until January 2022.

Fortnite's G.I. Joe crossover is well-timed, considering the upcoming release of the new G.I. Joe spin-off film, Snake Eyes. which is is slated to come out in October 2021. Until then, fans can step into Snake Eyes' shoes and set out on bounty hunts in Fortnite Season 5.
