Epic Games megahit Fortnite is celebrating its third birthday with, among other things, a set of two unique weapon skin wraps that have leaked thanks to studious data miners. It's hard to believe that Fortnite has already been with the gaming world for three long years, but the dawn of gaming's comfort food and the birth of a metaverse that will be expanded on for years to come is an occasion worth celebrating to be sure.

The developers at Epic Games seem to think so, as they have had a birthday celebration in-game on the past two occasions when the time has come. The all-important Battle Bus gets a visual upgrade for the event each year, and players get to pick up a set of free limited-edition items. The first year, players grabbed bling they can wear on their backs, while the second included a free skin and a new pickaxe for all their pickaxing needs. The third year is expected to feature events similar to those in Fortnite's first two birthday celebrations.

The Fortnite data miners at FortniteFevers dug into recent updates and discovered what freebies players logging in during the celebration for Fortnite's third year may be receiving. Players will get two weapon wraps, which are skins that can be applied to different guns to make them all look like a set. The first is a mixture of bright pink and teal that's shaped like a birthday cake. The second is the same teal color covered with birthday sprinkles. Players can already see the skins in action via various videos posted by the collective of leakers.

It must be stressed that the weapon wrap skins aren't finalized, as Fortnite's third birthday isn't until next week. The exact date is September 26th, which lands on a Saturday, giving players plenty of time to enjoy their weekend in the realms of Fortnite. Of course, next Saturday is the anniversary of the Battle Royale add-on for Fortnite. The Save the World horde mode which comprised the original release of the game emerged on July 25th, 2017, meaning that Fortnite is technically three years old already. However, most Fortnite gamers only care about the battle royale portion, so the September date is more important.

In one short week, Fortnite Battle Royale will be three years old, and it shows no signs of slowing down. With new updates and crossovers with everyone from NFL players to John Wick, the game has taken the world by storm and overtaken much of the conversation among a huge subset of gamer. Even for those not interested in Epic Games' colorful parade of death, they are certainly interested in the many exclusive games that Fortnite helps its developer fund for release in the Epic Games Store. So really, one more year of Fortnite means everyone has something to celebrate.
