A new season of Fortnite almost always includes tons of new weapons, features, map changes, NPCs, crossover character skins, and challenges, and Season 6 is no exception. One of the new major features is the addition of The Spire in the center of the map, replacing Zero Point, and bosses who protect it. These NPCs are called Spire Guardians, and they are hostile toward players. There are six of these Guardians found roaming around various locations that surround The Spire, protecting smaller versions of it. Each Guardian has a full shield and the unique ability to teleport, which will make them difficult to fight. Defeating a Guardian grants players an Epic weapon drop and a large Orb. When returned to the central Spire, these orbs give players the Mythic Spire Jump Boots item which grants double jump abilities for the duration of the match.

When fighting the Spire Guardians, players will want to have high-level gear and weapons to help them outlast the NPC's health and shields. For many of these fights, it will be best to stay at range, but this can be difficult as the Spire Guardians can teleport around to get a better angle on the player. Here's where to find every Spire Guardian in Fortnite Season 6 and some strategies for defeating them.

Spire Guardian Locations in Fortnite Season 6

Map locations for all six Spire Guardians in Fortnite Season 6

Spire Guardians are found near smaller Spires around the outer edge of the Fortnite map, surrounding The Spire. Normally, Spire Guardians don't travel very far and will patrol the base of the smaller Spire. Players can generally avoid these areas until they are ready to fight a boss.

The map above shows the locations for all six Spire Guardians. A detailed description of each one appears below:

  • Guardian of the Sea: East of Pleasant Park and Stealthy Stronghold, about halfway between both locations
  • Guardian of the Fields: Northeast of Colossal Crops
  • Guardian of the Mountain: In the mountains on the northwest side of Retail Row
  • Guardian of the Lake: At Apollo island in Lazy Lake, north of Misty Meadows
  • Guardian of the Woods: Near the center of Weeping Woods, directly north of Slurpy Swamp
  • Guardian of the Bay: On the northeast side of Sweaty Sands, across the bay from Coral Castle

All Spire Guardians register as landmarks once players reach the location of the smaller Spires.

Defeating Spire Guardians will take a lot of patience and guard, as well as some well-placed shots. It's a good idea to build up and around the spire to attack the Spire Guardians from higher ground. While they all can teleport around the small Spire, they are less likely to teleport up a player's structures. Building up is one of the safest ways to take out a Spire Guardian.

Upon defeat, Spire Guardians drop a decent weapon, some other loot, and an Orb. Players can transport this Orb back to the central Spire to unlock the Mythic Spire Jump Boots, but they will need to be careful during transport if they are playing in Solos. While holding the Orb, they can move faster and jump higher, but they cannot deploy a glider or use a weapon without dropping the Orb, making it somewhat easier for another player to snipe them and take their loot. In Fortnite Duos or Squads, one player can carry the Orb while the others protect that player from attacks.
