One of the major draws of Fortnite Season 4 and its Battle Pass are all the new cosmetics players can unlock, particularly the Marvel superhero items, skins, accessories, and emotes. To earn these skins and other rewards, players are going to need to level up within the Battle Pass and ascend through Tiers. Leveling up takes XP, which is not difficult to come by. Players earn XP based on their performance in matches. They can also earn XP by completing Daily or Weekly Challenges. Another sure way to earn free XP and climb several Tiers effortlessly is through XP Coins. These are colorful coins hiding at unnamed locations on the Fortnite map, and, starting this week, players can begin seeking out and collecting theirs for Season 4.
XP Coins tend to be difficult to get to, often appearing high in the air like the Floating Rings. Players may need to build up to reach them or land in just the right spot to collect them right away. When players attempt to collect Coins, some may explode into smaller, more collectible fragments for the player to grab, but this can also mean they scatter very easily. In these cases, players may want to build a structure around the coin to prevent the pieces from scattering around. Right now, there are two Purple XP Coins, three Blue XP Coins, and four Green XP Coins. It's likely players will be able to find more in the coming weeks, including Gold XP Coins, which often appear late in the season. Every Fortnite Season 4 Week 1 XP Coin Location
Each color XP Coin is worth a different amount of XP. Purple XP Coin fragments are worth 850 XP each. Blue and Green XP Coins can usually be collected without needing to break into fragments. Blue XP Coins are worth 6,500 XP each, and Green XP Coins are worth 5,000 XP each. Players will find XP Coins in the marked locations on the map above. A more detailed description appears below:
Purple XP Coins
- 1. Near the road east of Frenzy Farm, under a small collection of trees and near the cellular tower.
- 2. In a bush west of Weeping Woods, just southeast from Holly Hedges.
Blue XP Coins
- 3. Inside a wooden shipping container laying across a blue and a silver shipping container on the coast west of Sweaty Sands and northeast of the heart-shaped island for Groot's Awakening challenge.
- 4. Under the garbage pile in a crumbling building north of Misty Meadows across the water and west of Lazy Lake.
- 5. Inside the building on the east side of Steamy Stacks, accessed by breaking in from the roof to the top floor and breaking the black case inside.
Green XP Coins
- 6. At the top of a tree at the bend in the river immediately south of the southernmost Stack at Steamy Stacks. Players will likely want to land here to reach it.
- 7. In the waterfall southwest of Lazy Lake. Players will likely want to land here to get it.
- 8. Under the road and bridge between Doom's Domain and Salty Springs (north of Salty Springs, south of Doom's Domain).
- 9. Under a tree near the water southeast of Slurpy Swamp.
The second Coin location is close to Weeping Woods, where players will need to go to investigate the mysterious claw marks as part of the Wolverine challenge and find the Bifrost marks as Thor. Both 5 and 6 are located near Steamy Stacks, where players looking to complete Storm's Awakening challenge will also need to be to ride the stacks in the storm. Players can accomplish several tasks in the same match rather than needing to make separate trips, as long as they plan it out in advance.
