A new Fortnite update lets players fight and defeat Darth Vader to earn the iconic Sith Lord's powerful lightsaber. Epic Games' battle royale shooter is known for its crossovers with various different properties, including the beloved Star Wars franchise. A Fortnite Darth Vader skin was recently added to the game in Chapter 3 Season 3, but now players can face the infamous villain himself and wield his signature weapon.
Over time Fortnite has continued expanding its lineup of collaborations and crossovers, with Star Wars content being particularly popular among fans. Back in 2019 the multiplayer shooter commemorated the release of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker by adding skins of characters like Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. The event also saw the addition of an exciting quest that let players fly the Millennium Falcon. Since then Fortnite has received even more Star Wars skins, with most pulled from Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Lightsabers and Star Wars skins made a return to Fortnite on May 4, and now the series' most iconic character has touched down on the Island.
A brand-new Fortnite update will let players confront the Dark Side, challenge Darth Vader and collect his lightsaber. Starting today, Darth Vader will land on the Island alongside a squad of Stormtroopers during every match. The cyborg Sith Lord will likely be an overwhelming foe, but defeating him will let players collect his dropped lightsaber. Darth Vader's iconic weapon will let players block incoming fire, throw it like a boomerang or simply slash enemies with impunity. E-11 Blasters can also be collected from Vader's fallen Stormtroopers, or from Imperial Chests found at the villain's landing sites. However, these Star Wars characters will not appear in competitive playlists.
To match his nemesis and former apprentice, an Obi-Wan Kenobi Fortnite skin was recently added by Epic Games. Just in time for the Jedi Knight's new Disney+ series, the skin will now let players recreate the iconic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. The unique outfit comes along with other accessories like a Blade Pickaxe, Jedi Interceptor Glider and Obi-Wan's Message Emote. The beloved Star Wars character sadly lacks his iconic blue lightsaber, though he is still more than a match for Darth Vader and his squad of Stormtroopers.
While a Darth Vader skin is already available in Fortnite, players can now truly embody the Sith Lord by wielding his iconic lightsaber in combat. However, in order to earn this weapon players must face off against Vader and a band of loyal Stormtroopers. Those visiting the Island should be prepared to learn the power of the Dark Side and face off against the unstoppable Darth Vader starting today.
