One of the last Resistance Quests in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is "Equip the backpack and collect fuel cells near Command Cavern," tasking players with charging a nanobattery Chargepack using Fuel Cells found in and around the IO-controlled landmark. This quest becomes available after participants have established a Device Uplink near Seven Outpost II or Seven Outpost V. Completing all the stages of this challenge will reward Fortnite fans with 23,000 XP for their Battle Pass progression.

Once the Device Uplink has been set up, The Imagined will task the Fortnite protagonist to pick up a backpack-like device known as the Chargepack that can store the energy from Fuel Cells needed to power a Mech. However, the main challenge is that the Chargepack will run out of energy as the player traverses the Island. Therefore, they must return the backpack to the Seven Outpost II or Seven Outpost V as soon as possible. The Chargepack looks like a blue canister with a multi-bar display on its back to indicate its remaining fuel. The Fuel Cells appear as small glowing blue tanks of electrical energy. Players can automatically pick the cells up by walking over them.

After equipping the backpack in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, the following yellow quest message will appear on the upper-left corner of the screen, "Get Fuel Cells at Command Cavern and return the pack to Seven Outpost II or Seven Outpost V at least half-full." This wording might sound slightly confusing for some players, but the solution is moderately straightforward.

How To Complete The Fuel Cell Backpack Delivery Quest In Fortnite

Fuel Cell Backpack Delivery Quest In Fortnite Map Location

While Fortnite fans can complete the Resistance Quest at either Seven Outpost II or Seven Outpost V, it is recommended that players head to Seven Outpost V for the easiest route. Starting from the back or near the front of the outpost, pick up one of the available Chargepack backpacks. Follow the trail northeastward towards the small guard tower by the bridge over the river. Enter the tower and pick up the single Fuel Cell on the ground. Turn around and return the charged backpack to Seven Outpost V to complete the quest in Fortnite.

Those who perhaps died from another player or were unable to fulfill the quest at Seven Outpost V can always try their luck at Seven Outpost II as well. Check the minimap for white diamond-shaped exclamation point markers to find and collect the Fuel Cells. After reaching a 50% or higher charge level, return to either outpost and place the backpack on the small Chargepack stands.
