Cobra Kai sets are available now in the Fortnite Item Shop, bringing the infamous Crane Kick and other Karate Kid-inspired cosmetics to the game. Fortnite is no stranger to big pop-culture crossovers, having recently added the Boba Fett skin and Star Wars Bundle in time for the Disney Plus launch of The Book of Boba Fett. Before that, Fortnite added Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Zendaya’s MJ skins in celebration of the theatrical release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Among other massive crossovers in the Fortnite universe, it's claimed Fortnite will collaborate with Microsoft and Bethesda to add characters from Doom and other Bethesda properties. The rumors were shared by an insider after the success of Microsoft’s Gears of War skins, suggesting that Doom’s Doom Slayer could appear soon. It seems for Fortnite, crossovers are an interesting way to lure fans back into the free-to-play battle royale, by enticing players with pop-culture-inspired skins, cosmetics, and other unlockable vanity items. Fortnite has proved itself as a successful marketing tool, garnering massive attention for upcoming projects and theatrical releases, such as Fortnite’s Jinx Skin from the Arcane animated show.

Confirmed by Fortnite on Twitter, Cobra Kai sets are available now in the Item Shop, allowing players to “strike first. Strike hard,” and have “no mercy.” The new cosmetic items provide the opportunity to “rep your favorite Cobra Kai Dojo,” bringing uniforms from Eagle Fang, Miyagi-Do, and Cobra Kai. The video attached to the Twitter post shows off three uniform variations, with all three characters are performing the infamous Crane Kick, which is also available in the Item Shop. Other recent additions include the Cobra’s Curse pickaxe, Teachings of Miyagi Back Bling, and the Cobra Coin. The Cobra Kai set also includes various uniform styles, colors, and karate stances to choose from. Individual items are available for purchase, as well as three Cobra Kai bundles: Karate KO, Dojo Showdown, and Cobra Kai Gear.

Netflix's Cobra Kai series and related video games continue the Karate Kid saga from the point of view of William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence and the Cobra Kai students he teaches. While focusing on Daniel LaRusso and his Miyagi-Do students, the show centers around age-old conflicts, as well as modern-day showdowns. The show was a hit on YouTube Premium when it first dropped in 2018 and continued its success when it transitioned over to Netflix.

Fornite's latest big-name collaboration is likely to be a hit with players, though whether or not Cobra Kai will be as successful in-game as Spider-Man remains to be seen. Currently, there isn’t a Daniel LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence, or Kreese skin to unlock, but there are plenty of Gi varieties to choose from for players to make their own Karate Kid. It's possible even more Netflix-related skins could come to Fortnite in the future, with further branded partnerships likely.
