Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 has just dropped, and this season has a lot of new weapons that players will want to grab and experience. Although an entirely new Fortnite map was not part of this new season, three new POIs have been showcasing the return of Ballers. Although one thing that players will be excited to see is the three new weapons that have dropped with this new season. Fortnite has granted players of the game the Hammer Rifle, Two-Shot Shotgun, and the Designated Marksman Rifle. Each gun has both its pros and cons and a lot for players to discover with these new weapons to find out if they will be picked up into their inventory or left behind. With the return of ballers, getting that desired high ground will become much easier, especially in Fortnites zero build mode, so picking up the DMR may be needed to pick off those enemies one by one while in high ground.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 has granted a partially new map with three new POIs to explore, and lots of new chest locations will allow for more chances of collecting these new weapons alongside obtaining them from sapling fruits. Additionally, within the Battle Pass, players will have the option of collecting weapon wraps in which they can show these new weapons in every player's unique style and preference. Among all the NPC on the map, a couple will also be selling some exclusive mythic weapons in Fortnite in exchange for gold, but it may take some time before these weapons can be bought. So it's always a good idea to be looking for gold in couches, beds and opening cash registers when they are within line of sight. Completing bounties from bounty boards is also an excellent way for players to earn gold to acquire these weapons.

In addition to the three brand new weapons, a majority of Fortnite Season 2's weapons are also returning for Chapter 3. Player favorites like the Auto Shotgun and Fortnite's Stinger SMG should keep close-range players happy. At the same time, the return of the Ranger Assault Rifle and Heavy Sniper Rifle is guaranteed to remain deadly options for ranged encounters. For the new weapons, below is a detailed description of each, including all the gun specs to help players choose whether or not these are something they will want to have in their inventory.

Newly Added Weapons In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Newly Added Weapons In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Hammer Assault Rifle

The first of Fortnite's new weapons is the Hammer Assault Rifle, it packs some severe recoil, but this extremely powerful gun can drop enemies at long and close range if players can manage to tame it. The lowest damage this weapon can inflict based upon rarity is 27 points for grey and then for gold, a total of 36. This AR acts a lot like an SMG with a firing rate of 5.8 and has a magazine size of 20 bullets. The reload time for this gun ranges from 2.42 to 1.87 seconds. Players may find this gun more difficult because it does not have a scop, unlike the burst AR, which was very popular last season. But of course, if no other weapons are around, this isn't the worst one to be picked up.

Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR)

Falling somewhere in between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle, Fortnite's brand new DMR provides a lethal and accurate option for medium-range combat. This newly added gun is very similar to thermal in terms of how it shoots, minus the thermal scope. The weapon uses sniper ammo and has a magazine size of 10 bullets, no matter what the rarity. The reload time for the DMR doesn't have much of a difference between grey and gold variants, with the lowest rarity taking 2.75 seconds and the highest rarity taking 2.25 seconds. With only having a maximum of 55 damage to the body, the highest amount of headshot damage that players can do with the Fortnite DMR is 90.75. Thanks to the fire rate of only 2.5 seconds, this gun would be a great one to pick up for that medium-range combat and get some severe damage on enemy players.

Two-Shot Shotgun

With the beloved Drum Shotgun being vaulted, for now, the Two-Shot Shotgun is making its grand entrance. True to its name, this shotgun can fire two high-damage bursts that can make quick work of enemies at close range. The gun has a damage rate from 54 to 69 per hit, and headshot damage ranges from 94.5 to 120.75. This gun can knock an enemy player if two headshots are hit directly after one another. It seems to be that this new weapon has a lot of similarities to the Double Barrel Shotgun, with its two powerful blasts. Although the gun has a magazine of eight bullets, it will take some time before players can reshoot the weapon after a double shot. Because of this, it is a good idea that players also pick up an SMG for a good chance of getting one step closer to getting a Fortnite Victory Royale.

These new weapons may take some time for players to get used to them before feeling comfortable, but if all are hated, there are still two other shotguns that can be picked up the pump and the auto shotgun. The new season of Fortnite has a lot of new things for players to explore and new weapons to use in battle while doing so. In addition, there may very well be some of the players' favorite weapons returning, with weapon unvaulting events as we have seen in previous seasons. But for now, the shotguns that are available are what players will have to work with.
