Fortnite is introducing a new set of Boundless skins that let players create and customize their own superhero. Fortnite is a multiplayer sensation and a cultural phenomenon. The game is one of the most famous battle royale titles around, and it rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars every month for developer Epic Games. Recently, Epic has been using Fortnite's status as a cultural touchstone to challenge Apple and Google over app distribution.

Fortnite owes much of its success to its status as a live service game, bringing constant new updates for players to explore and enjoy. The newest season launched just recently on all platforms except iOS, due to the aforementioned legal battle going on between Epic and Apple. The new season brings a superhero angle to the beloved shooter by crossing over with Marvel comics in a special event that is, surprisingly enough, entirely canon in both the overarching Fortnite storyline and in the Marvel universe.

But the superhero fantasy isn't exclusive to existing Marvel heroes like Iron Man and Thor. Epic is giving fans a chance to create their own superheroes with the new Boundless set, which it announced on Twitter earlier today. As reported by Fortnite Insider, the set includes 10 basic superhero skins, which can be customized in many different ways. Players can change the colors of their superhero outfit, modify patterns and appearances, and even alter the logo by sticking an emoticon to the costume. If a player unlocks the Hero's Beacon emote, they can project their chosen logo into the sky like the Bat-Signal. Epic boasts that there are billions of possible choices and combinations, ensuring that everyone's superhero persona will be unique to them.

Fortnite has been doing a great job of representing Marvel's beloved superheroes in previous weeks. A recent update added a host of superpowers for players to unlock and utilize in battle against their foes. By combining these unlockable superpowers with their new, original superhero skins, fans should be able to take ownership of their player characters in completely new and exciting ways.

Regardless of one's opinions on Fortnite, the impact the game has had on popular culture cannot be denied. It's a powerhouse, one that is truly and deeply beloved by fans, and it's probably not going away any time soon. Players have been given a lot of exciting opportunities for adventures and heroics every week during Season 4, and now that they can design and dress up as their own superheroes, it looks like the Fortnite Marvel experience is only going to get better.
