This week, it's all about vehicles in Fortnite Season 3, as the new Joy Ride update finally introduced driveable cars to the game. Each week of the season, Fortnite players have had the chance to earn some free XP for their Battle Pass by completing seven weekly challenges of varying difficulty. For Week 8, players have to complete some tasks that demonstrate and rely upon new and existing driving mechanics in the game.

One of the challenges asks players to complete a Time Trial at Motorboat Mayhem. Motorboat Mayhem is a boating track where players will need to race their vessels to the finish line. The challenge does not ask players to complete the trial in record time, but there is a timer. Players will need to hit every checkpoint on the race track before that timer runs out to earn their XP. Here's how to find Motorboat Mayhem, complete the trial, and earn that free 35,000 XP.

Find Motorboat Mayhem in Fortnite Season 3

The location of Motorboat Mayhem on the Fortnite Season 3 Map, southwest of Lazy Lake

With the Fortnite map constantly changing this season, and as the waters recede, players may struggle to come across Motorboat Mayhem if they don't know where to look. The boat-race track is a small location north of Misty Meadows and southwest of Lazy Lake. The floodwaters at Lazy Lake have not receded, leaving the spot perfect for boating. Here, players will find several motorboats to choose from and use.

It may be a good idea to drop directly into this location from the Battle Bus to get started right away. Once the challenge is complete, players have an easy travel to either Lazy Lake or Misty Meadows to continue the match. Another strategy might be to wait until early skirmishes have ended to avoid being eliminated by hostile players while trying to complete the challenge.

Once a player has chosen their vessel to captain, they will need to travel to the starting line. This is denoted by a glowing blue crossed-oar symbol in the water. When the countdown begins, players will notice blue checkpoints appear within the water. Players simply need to drive the boat through each blue checkpoint to the finish line to receive their XP.

While completing the Time Trial near other players may leave a player open to attacks and elimination, it could be more fun to race the track with other players rather than entirely alone.
