Many American friends and family members on 90 Day Fiancé think that all foreigners want to come to the United States, but some foreign spouses have left the country after living there. The hit TLC franchise features international couples who often settle down in the US when the foreign half of the couple joins the American partner on a K-1 visa. However, Americans sometimes travel abroad to start new lives with their partners as well. In several instances, foreign 90 Day Fiancé cast members left their lives in the United States.

Many 90 Day Fiancé fans have bemoaned the American cast members for often presenting the U.S. as the greatest country in the world. It is a false expectation that all people want to live in the US, especially within the franchise. Numerous cast members have struggled with major adjustments as they adapt to their new lives in the United States. In addition to language barriers and cultural changes, cast members also struggle with homesickness and missing their loved ones. There are many reasons why returning home is sometimes the best option, including legal reasons.
