Gus Smyrnios may have thought he was playing it cool while trying to win over Aimee Hall's "baby" cousin Ally, but Floribama Shore fans beg to differ. As soon as the highly-anticipated guest stepped foot in the door, Gus turned on the charm. He cooked, cleaned, and looked smugly content upon learning Ally has a thing for bad boys. In his opinion, Ally's other interest Jeremiah Buoni didn't have a chance in the world. However, rather than swooning over Gus, viewers are downright repulsed by his attempts at flirting...and his ever-growing hair.

So far on Floribama Shore season 4, Gus has had a rough time. After his former fling Nilsa Prowant announced her pregnancy with "Gus 2.0" Gazda, his behavior took a downward spiral. He fought with Jeremiah and Candace Rice over minor issues and sprinted through the freezing streets in a back thong and shorts in an effort to escape his problems. Following a short quarantine, Gus returned to the house a seemingly changed man. But the gang didn't officially get their beloved Gus back until cousin Ally arrived. Women are admittedly his weakness, and the prospect of hooking up with an outgoing blonde transformed Gus' entire demeanor. He was smiling like he hadn't done in weeks.

Though Ally appeared to love Gus' advances toward her, he wasn't melting the hearts of fans. On Reddit, many dragged Gus for thinking he's much cooler than he actually is. In fact, a number were downright disgusted by his actions on the episode. One said, "If I had the opp to sleep with Gus to create world peace, I'd seriously have to think really long and hard about it. He makes me ill lol." Several made fun of his dance moves during the basement club party: "Gus dancing harder reminded me of 'The Office' scene when they're all at Robert California's house and both Gabe and Ryan are trying to suck up the most and it ends with them dancing for hours in a dark room while Robert California is passed out lmao." Meanwhile, others trashed Gus' pride and joy: "Gus' hair looks like it smells disgusting."

One viewer expressed concern over Gus' behavior. They said, "It's wild to me that throwing things, punching people, and punching objects are all totally normal reactions to anger on this show. I have literally never met anyone in real life who has such explosive reactions, and if I did, I'd refer them to a therapist." This isn't the first time Gus' mental health was called into question.

After Gus posted a photo on Instagram that highlighted his facial scars, numerous followers urged him to seek help. Based on cryptic comments from Gus, it seems he had a difficult upbringing and experienced traumatic life events. It's unclear whether not he'll share more details on Floribama Shore, but Gus' fans and castmates alike hope he's OK.
