Candace Rice from Floribama Shore recently revealed that she has been battling COVID-19 for over a week. Usually the southern spitfire of the group, Candace never refrains from speaking her mind, whether she's defending Kirk Medas from the police or fighting with Codi Butts about his supposed affection for her. This sentiment is holding true during her virus diagnosis, as she candidly details the physical and mental symptoms she's enduring. Thankfully, she has a strong support system of castmates and fans, though some are pushing the boundaries of privacy as they inquire about Candace's vaccination status.

COVID-19 first entered the Floribama Shore bubble in the midst of filming season 4 at Lake Havasu, Arizona. After a member of the production team tested positive, the entire cast and crew were forced to quarantine for two weeks in separate rooms at the resort. During this time, none of the core cast members were infected. However, the same can't be said about the stars of other reality TV shows. Former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Teddi Mellencamp shared how, although she is no longer COVID-positive, she's suffering aftereffects like vertigo and dizziness. Fans of 90 Day Fiancé also watched as a COVID-infected Yara was tasked with caring for baby Mylah while husband Jovi Dufren was away at work. They didn't feel much sympathy for Yara since she was regularly spotted out and about in New Orleans maskless.

On Twitter, Candace shared with her followers that she's the latest celebrity to contract COVID-19. Candace said, "I've had COVID for a week now, and it's awful. I feel like a 600 pound man is standing on my lungs. It's miserable... be safe out there y'all." She went on to thank Floribama Shore co-star Nilsa Prowant, who sent Candace "pasta I wish I could've tasted." Nilsa retweeted Candace's message and said, "COVID is no joke!!!! Feel better soon love." While some commenters shared home remedies, including drinking lots of water and taking vitamins, others demanded to know if Candace is vaccinated. The latter individuals were called out by the former, stating that even the vaccinated can get the virus, just less severely. Candace didn't acknowledge these questions.

Meanwhile, fellow Floribama Shore cast member Aimee Hall took to her own Twitter to ask for prayers for her 23-year-old friend, who is COVID-positive and currently fighting for his life. The friend didn't believe in the vaccine, and Aimee retweeted a message that said if he had gotten the shot, he might not be in this situation. Aimee pleaded with her followers to stop arguing about the vaccine: "It's your choice get it if you want. I don't care about your opinions on it. It's your life do what you want! I just want prayers for my friend. I am really really sad. Y'all arguing just makes it worse."

Regardless of vaccination status, Floribama Shore viewers want Candace, as well as Aimee's friend, to make a full recovery. In the case of Candace, who is young, fit, and healthy, her severe issues breathing may serve as a wake-up call to young fans who feel they're invincible when it comes to COVID-19. Hopefully, Candace's strength and faith help her make a full recovery so she can enjoy the pasta from Nilsa.
