The Flash fans have been waiting for awhile now for Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) to really get his Vibe on. Beginning with just a few flashes of foresight, Cisco has slowly been learning the larger scope of his powers. A brush with his villainous alter-ego Reverb on Earth-2 gave him a real-life glimpse of his potential, but with the loss of his brother Dante due to Flashpoint, Earth-1's Cisco hasn't really had his heart set on suiting up as a hero.
The upcoming episode 'Dead or Alive', will change that. As the official synopsis explains, Team Flash has to deal with an inter-dimensional bounty hunter named Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho). Apparently jumping to an alternate Earth is illegal in H.R.'s (Tom Cavanagh) former world, so she's come to take him back to stand trial. The only way to save H.R. is a fight to the death with Gypsy, and Cisco offers to take on that challenge.
That means Cisco has to really amp up his metahuman skills, and the latest photos from The Flash, which you can see in the gallery below, reveal he'll be donning a Vibe costume for the occasion as well. We first got a glimpse of the red, yellow, and black leather costume in a behind-the-scenes video last year, but now we get to see how it looks on Cisco himself.

Vibe's costume is a definite homage to more recent incarnations of the character in DC comics, with the quilted design in his jacket, the red and yellow accents, plus the mirrored glasses and gloves he created to help channel his powers. Cisco is clearly hoping to look a lot more badass than his usual S.T.A.R. Labs geek-wear. An added motivation for his killer look can be found in the trailer for 'Dead or Alive', which reveals that in true Cisco fashion, he's totally attracted to the woman he's supposed to be in a duel-to-the-death with.
Aside from being an object of Cisco's affection, The Flash executive producer Aaron Helberg recently revealed that Gypsy will be further influencing the manifestation of Vibe's powers. "Because of seeing Gypsy, he’s going to become more and more in tune with his powers and what he can do, whether it’s crossing dimensions or opening breaches much faster and quicker." It sounds like we will be seeing more of Cisco and his Vibe costume going forward on the show.
The photos above show Cisco interacting with Gypsy both in an unexpected visit to S.T.A.R. labs and later, when he's suited up as Vibe. Assuming they don't kill each other first, it would be a fun aspect of The Flash if their relationship could continue in the future somehow. Cisco could use a new and positive influence on his life, whether it's a romantic one or not.
The Flash season 3 continues next Tuesday with ‘Dead or Alive’ @8pm on The CW.
