Warning! Spoilers for The Flash #780 by DC Comics

A new speedster has emerged in the pages of DC Comics, as Linda Park has gained similar powers to The Flash. However, using those abilities just made the hero realize the importance of a good costume and super suit, as she quickly destroys a pair of shoes while searching for her son and daughter.

Linda Park and Wally West are one of the most beloved couples in comics. Park is a reporter who began covering the Flash before being paired with him romantically. However, the pair and their eventual children were split up for years in the comics, as Wally underwent a series of stories that sidelined the hero from his family. However, Linda and Wally were reunited with their children, Irey and Jai, on Earth-0, where the Flash has returned to his more light-hearted adventures. Now, Linda Park is seemingly gaining her own Speed Force powers, where she quickly realizes that she might need a costume/suit immediately.

In an understandable panic, Linda zips around her neighborhood with her mysterious new powers as she wonders how her life has been so drastically changed in an instant. Then, noticing a smell, she looks down at her feet and notices her shoes have been burned to a crisp due to her Flash powers. The moment shows the importance of a super suit and costume that can withstand the vigors of the speedy power as Linda Park's shoes get destroyed instantly.

So, how does Linda Park have speed powers? Well, given her proximity to The Flash and her superpowered kids, it's possible that it somehow transferred over to her. On the other hand, Wally West can gift his speed, so the Speed Force could have rubbed off on her without his knowledge. If Linda Park's powers aren't temporary, she needs a super suit and Flash costume of her own, stat, unless she intends on destroying more pairs of shoes and clothing. The Flash #780 is in comic book stores Wednesday.
