The Flash season 8 episode 19 synopsis teases new Iris West-Allen story details while setting up part 1 of the season finale. Though it has been a long year for The Flash, things are starting to come together as Barry Allen and his team head into the final episodes of season 8. One of the remaining arcs that the Arrowverse show has left to solve is Iris' mysterious time-sickness, which has been an ongoing problem since the end of The Flash season 7.

Throughout The Flash season 8, there have been instances when Iris' time-sickness has caused her to vanish for a period of time, though it was usually temporary. However, at the very end of The Flash season 8 episode 14, Iris went MIA completely, and she has now been gone for several episodes. With only a handful of episodes left to air before the end of the season, finding and solving Iris' situation once and for all will be one of the priorities.

As The Flash returns this week after its final hiatus, The CW provides the official season 8 episode 19 synopsis. Titled "Negative, Part One," the episode sets up the first half of The Flash season 8 finale, which will air on Wednesday, June 28. While not making it clear who it is the Flash battles, the synopsis confirms that Iris will learn the cause of her condition. Check out the description below:

TEAM FLASH BANDS TOGETHER – The Flash (Grant Gustin) and team are in for the fight of their lives, meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) discovers the cause of her time sickness. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton, and Brandon McKnight. Jeff Byrd directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza.

With a title like "Negative" in it, it wouldn't be shocking if The Flash season 8 episode 19 may tie it back to the Negative Speed Force and Eobard Thawne. Since it has already been confirmed that the Reverse-Flash returns in season 8, Eobard may be tied to Iris' situation in some capacity. The last time Reverse-Flash was on The Flash was during the Armageddon event, which saw him lose his powers before getting locked up.

Whether Iris' time-sickness is based on anything from the comics or being set up as an original Arrowverse arc remains to be seen. While her situation will be solved for good, there are still a number of things to look forward to in The Flash season 8 finale. Several familiar characters will be returning, as well as a major surprise mystery cameo that is getting a lot of hype. Since The Flash season 9 won't premiere until 2023, it will be intriguing to see how these final episodes of season 8 will turn out.
