The CW Network has released a new trailer for The Flash, which includes the introduction of Barry Allen's children from the future. The Flash is based on the title character, also known as Barry, from DC Comics, who made his first appearance in 1956. In the live-action show, he's played by Grant Gustin (Glee). The story follows Barry, who gets struck by lightning and is given the ability to move at incredible speeds. As a crime scene investigator, he uses his new powers to fight crime.

The upcoming seventeenth episode of season 7 is titled "Heart of the Matter, Part 1." The season finale was split into two episodes to mark the explosive finale. Part 1 will also be the 150th episode of the television series to make it an even bigger deal. While the seventh season features a shorter order of episodes with a total of 18, fans can feel reassured that an eighth season is going to happen. It will be premiering on November 16, 2021, along with Riverdale.

The trailer for season 7, episode 17, brings about Barry's children, Bart (Jordan Fisher) and Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy). They come from the future, which left Barry understandably surprised at the end of the last episode. The trailer gives some footage of a team-up between them and teases their family dynamic. See below for the full trailer:

Bart and Nora are also known as the characters Impulse and XS. While the super speedster starts with the name Impulse, he eventually takes on the name of Kid Flash and ultimately The Flash in the comics. XS was given the name by her mother, Iris West-Allen, and has super speed and time travel abilities. This is Impulse's first representation on this live-action show, although XS previously starred in the Arrowverse series.

Given the fact that Fisher is taking on the suit will be the first time that Impulse shows up in the series, this marks a massive moment for the 150th episode of the show. However, it's also exciting to have XS back in the fold after not being full-time in the show for a couple of seasons. In addition to the action to come with the finale's date quickly approaching, there's also sure to be some family drama that will get in the way of their mission. Audiences have been less than pleased with how this season has handled villain Godspeed, so hopefully, the last two episodes of The Flash's seventh season end on a high note.
