Robbie Amell says he'd be open to returning as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm in The Flash. Introduced in season 1 of The Flash, Amell's Ronnie was the fiancé of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) who found himself merged into one being with Victor Garber's Martin Stein following a horrible accident. Together, Ronnie and Stein made up the Arrowverse's first iteration of the Firestorm character from the comics, and a considerable amount of time in The Flash's first season was dedicated to Ronnie and Stein learning to control their unintended, but powerful bond. The Flash's Firestorm storyline seemingly paid off at the end of season 1 as well, when Ronnie showed up at the last minute alongside Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) to help Barry (Grant Gustin) defeat the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

With the rapid expansion that was taking place in the Arrowverse at the time, Ronnie's appearance in The Flash's season 1 climax seemed to hint at a much larger role for the character in the future Arrowverse shows moving forward. That notion was quickly dashed in the season 2 premiere of The Flash, when Ronnie sacrificed himself to save Central City from a dangerous wormhole. But despite the character's death in The Flash season 2, some fans have held onto the hope of Amell making a surprise return to the Arrowverse as Firestorm at some point down the line .

The good news for those Arrowverse fans, is that Amell isn't saying no to that possibility either. During a recent interview with CBR, Amell revealed that he is still open to reprising his role as Ronnie Raymond in The Flash, but only if his return didn't take the spotlight away from the people who are still involved in the show:

I would love to go back, whenever it works, but there's great people and supporting characters on The Flash; I never want to be the guy who comes in for a couple episodes and steals time away from other people who are deserving of it. I'm still very much in touch with the people who are in charge and Danielle [Panabaker] and I talk on a regular basis. I would love to go back but who knows when and how, it would have to make sense for everybody.

Following his character's season 2 death, Amell made just two other appearances on The Flash, first as the Earth-2 version of Ronnie Raymond and then one more time in The Flash's third season as a manifestation of the Speed Force. Meanwhile, Ronnie was replaced by Franz Drameh's Jefferson "Jax" Jackson, who served as the new half of Firestorm in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow following Ronnie's death. Drameh and Garber continued to appear together as Firestorm throughout the first three seasons of Legends of Tomorrow, until the character was eventually written off the show.

Since the Arrowverse has taken so much inspiration from the DC comics, it's entirely possible that Amell could show up again as Firestorm. Comics have, after all, always found unexpected ways to bring characters back from death, and the Arrowverse shows have proven themselves to be equally inventive in that regard. However, given that the Firestorm character as a whole is gone from Legends of Tomorrow now, the possibility of Ronnie Raymond making any substantial return to The Flash or the Arrowverse as a whole seems particularly unlikely. Then again, it wouldn't be the most shocking thing that the Arrowverse has ever done.
