Arrow star Stephen Amell shares some dialogue from Green Arrow's big return in The Flash season 9. The Arrowverse is coming together in a special way during The Flash season 9. In episode 9, several Arrowverse stars are returning for what will be a memorable installment. Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West, aka Kid Flash, is returning one last time before The Flash ends. But it will also see the return of Amell's Green Arrow. This will be the first time since Arrow season 8 that Amell reprises the role.
Amell recently teased his return in The Flash season 9. The Arrow star shared a bit of dialogue from his episode, which was directed by Danielle Panabaker. Arrow's David Ramsey will also appear in the episode as John Diggle.
Amell's Arrowverse return has been one of the most highly anticipated moments in The Flash season 9. As of now, his The Flash season 9 episode won't air until late April.
How Will The Flash Season 9 Tackle Oliver Queen's Return?
The biggest mystery is how Oliver Queen will actually be back in The Flash season 9. Since Crisis on Infinite Earths, Oliver has been dead after he sacrificed himself to restore the multiverse. The only setup that the Arrowverse has done thus far is through the Earth-Prime tie-in comic from 2022. In the final issue, Oliver returned as the Spectre before the story came to an end.
During the filming for The Flash season 9, episode 9, set photos showed Amell suited up as the Green Arrow. It is likely Oliver's Spectre powers are what allow him to be back in the world of the living. But, if that's the case, it's unclear why he is wearing his Green Arrow costume rather than his Spectre suit. If anything, it is likely meant for nostalgic purposes. No matter how he returns, Oliver's expected to return to the afterlife once his final adventure with The Flash is done.
Amell's guest spot in The Flash season 9 couldn't be more fitting as the Arrowverse is almost over. With Superman & Lois set on another Earth, The Flash is The CW's last Earth-Prime-based show. Hopefully, The CW will reveal a proper first look soon at Amell's return in The Flash season 9.
