A new poster for The Flash season 8 has revealed many of the heroes returning for the upcoming “Armageddon” crossover event. The five-episode story arc will see Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen team up with current Arrowverse characters like Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) and The Atom (Brandon Routh), as well as some heroes who haven’t been seen since their respective shows ended. That expanded cast includes Mia Queen’s Green Arrow (Kat McNamara), Black Lightning (Cress Williams), and Sentinel (Chyler Leigh).

Since early on in the life of the Arrowverse, crossovers like Crisis on Infinite Earths have been a staple of the CW franchise. The overlaps between shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightningand Batwoman have given each some of their best moments, and it’s always exciting to see so many stars share the screen. Though “Armageddon” may not have quite the same scale as previous Arrowverse crossovers, it still looks like it should be an exciting way to kick off The Flash season 8.

In a new poster shared to the official Flash Twitter account, Barry is seen suiting up for action alongside Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), Ryan Wilder/Batwoman, Atom, Black Lightning, Sentinel, and Mia Queen. “Armageddon” will also feature Osric Chau as Ryan Choi, Tony Curran as Despero, Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, and fan-favorite Tom Cavanaugh as Eobard Thawne. The new Arrowverse crossover event kicks off on The CW with The Flash season 8 premiere on November 16, 2021. Check out the poster below.

The Flash Season 8 Poster Armageddon Crossover

The promise of characters returning from canceled Arrowverse shows has been one of the most exciting things about the “Armageddon” crossover, and it’s great to see beloved heroes like Sentinel, Black Lightning, and Mia Queen’s Green Arrow back in action. All the classic super-suits are back and looking better than ever, and they should be even better in motion. With five full episodes to tell the “Armageddon” story, The Flash season 8 should be off to a great start.

Unfortunately, the new poster doesn’t show anything of the main “Armageddon” villain, Despero, who has been glimpsed in previously released promotional photos. The Flash has faced some tough villains over the years, but if Despero carries the same alien superintelligence and immense strength as he does in the DC comics, he could be the fiercest foe Barry Allen has battled yet. With that in mind, it’s good that he’ll have such a capable squad of Arrowverse characters by his sideThe Flash season 8 premieres on The CW with the first part of the “Armageddon” crossover on November 16.
