Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) officially made his return to The Flash this week while also foreshadowing the extended Speedsters mythology. Since his debut in season 2, Wally West has been one of the Arrowverse’s all-time fan favorites, always leaving viewers wanting more of him. While the iconic heroic speedster has played a lesser role since leaving both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, Wally has certainly not been forgotten. With several references to the beloved DC character in the recent seasons, Kid Flash has been on his own adventures off-screen. But after a long wait, viewers got to see the West member for the first time since his season 5 guest-spot. In The Flash season 6, episode 14, “Death of the Speed Force,” Wally makes his return to Central City to tackle the mystery surrounding the Speed Force.

While Barry (Grant Gustin) had been feeling off his game since the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, it wasn’t just the Scarlet Speedster whose powers were fading. It becomes evident throughout the episode that Barry’s decisions in the 5-hour crossover affected their power source on a massive scale. Wally eventually confronts Barry about his choices while explaining how the Speed Force connects all speedsters across time. Having learned how to talk to the extra-dimensional power source, Wally explains how he’d see visions and even alternative futures. But the common thread with that experience was that Wally always saw a speedster who would pick up their mantles and keep the legacy alive through centuries.

But it’s in this scene where Wally made some major foreshadowing of the larger Flash mythology. The first nod is when Wally explains how he would see his kids running with their kids. While they are never name-dropped, this is a tease to Kid Flash’s personal family tree in the comics. The kids that Wally mentions are an Easter egg to the speedster twins Jai and Iris “Irey” West. While the characters have had quite the convoluted history, the twins just recently returned in the comic realm. In the comics, Wally is married to Linda Park, who was played by Malese Jow in the earlier seasons of The Flash as an early love interest for Barry. But in this incarnation, the two have never even met, implying that if the twins ever were to show up, their mother would most likely be someone else.

However, Jai and Irey aren’t the only speedsters to be alluded to by Wally. Even though they didn't get named, Kid Flash does end up saying one name that comes as big news to Barry. One of the speedsters that he has seen in his visions is Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) who was erased out of existence in season 5 as a result of changing the timeline. Despite her death, it was always a possibility that a new version of Nora would exist in the future, but just not the XS that Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) met. While no announcement has been made about the actress reprising her role in season 6, this may have been a set up for that. With Barry attempting to create a new Speed Force along with the fact that Crisis rebooted the universe, Nora's reemergence is more than possible.

Thanks to the visions Wally saw of her, it might only be a matter of time until the Earth-Prime version of XS shows up. Whether or not fans will ever meet Wally's kids on-screen remains to be seen. Since Kid Flash only shows up every once in a while, it's unlikely unless that is planned as an arc for The Flash season 7 or beyond. However, simply the notion of getting Easter eggs and teases of other speedsters is always an exciting thing for the series. Currently, the second half of The Flash season 6 is focusing heavily on the Mirror-verse and Black Hole arcs, which doesn't leave much room to introduce that many new characters, yet. Only time will tell if Wally's visions of his kids or even Nora will come into play on The Flash.
