One of the biggest shows in the Arrowverse is The Flash and after the massive fallout in Season 5's finale, the sixth year is aiming to be massive. With the coming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event and the arrival of Bloodwork, possibly one of the show's dangerous villains, Team Flash has a lot on their plate. At San Diego Comic-Con 2019 a few weeks ago, we learned about some of the characters who will be debuting as well as returning, including Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) in the sixth season.

However, there are still characters that we want to see show up that haven't been announced yet. As the fall season arrives, more details will hopefully be revealed. With that said, there are seven characters (both old and new) that need to be in season six while there are three better left untouched.

EXCLUDE: Harrison Sherloque Wells

Out of all the Harrison Wells that the series has in the last five years, Sherloque was the most annoying one. He was created to basically take Ralph Dibny's (Hartley Sawyer) role as Season 5's detective.

Given that Sherloque is still alive back on his Earth, that means that the door is open for him to come back. In this case, that door should stay locked as this Wells was definitely a one-season version.

NEEDS: Jesse Quick

Jesse Quick

For almost two seasons now, we have not seen the return of Jesse Quick (Violett Beane), the Flash of Earth-2. It's mainly because the actress has been busy with her own show God Friended Me over on CBS. However, with "Crisis on Infinite Earths" happening, surely there must be a way to bring her back, if only for one episode.

Even though her show is on CBS, it is produced by Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti, therefore there might be a way to make the shooting schedules work. Besides, who wouldn't love to see Wally and Jesse reunite for the first time in a long time?

NEEDS: Jay Garrick

Ever since "Enter Flashtime" in Season 4, Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) hasn't returned to Earth-1 once. While he did retire after that episode, how many superheroes actually stays in retirement indefinitely?

With the biggest Multiverse story coming up in the Arrowverse's history, several Flashes are better than one. In addition to that, we still need to meet the new female speedster that Jay began training on Earth-3.

EXCLUDE: Patty Spivot

The Flash Patty Spivot Shantel VanSanten Return Possible

One of the characters who had a mixed presence in Season 2 was Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten.) Appearing in the first half of the season as a temporary love interest for Barry, while taking screentime away from Iris, Patty's visit wasn't particularly memorable.

To make things simpler, it would probably not be the best idea to bring Patty back. Unless they want to introduce a doppelgänger version of her that is similar to Hot Pursuit from the comics.

NEEDS: Eddie Thawne

Barry Allen and Eddie Thawne in The Flash episode Into the Speed Force

One of the earliest deaths in the series was Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett); in Season 1, he shot himself to stop Reverse-Flash. However, what many may not remember is that his body was sucked into the wormhole in the Season 1 finale.

That is a big mystery that has been left unanswered for 5 years. Given the complexity of the Multiverse, there are ways for Eddie or any doppelganger version of him to show up either as an ally or foe. Eddie's story never felt complete when and bringing him back 5 seasons later could certainly be neat.

NEEDS: Bart Allen/Impulse

Bart Allen Kid Flash from the comics

While The Flash has introduced many of the iconic speedsters from the comics over the course of five seasons, they're still missing one. That is none other than Bart Allen, a.k.a. Impulse, the grandson of Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen.

While they lost Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) in the finale, imagine the comfort of having Bart show up from the future, assuring Iris and Barry that they will still leave a legacy. Whether or not the TV version is the son of Don Allen and Meloni Thawne like in the comics remains to be seen.

NEEDS: Leonard Snart/Citizen Cold

Wentworth Miller will always and forever be one of the Arrowverse's best casting choices of all time. Whether it is the original Captain Cold or Citizen Cold of Earth-X, Miller brought something special to The Flash. Miller made his final appearance back in Season 4, declaring it to be his last time playing Snart.

However, it has been a few years now and if TPTB pitches it right, maybe Miller will make a return. If Leo could return from Earth-X, it would be nice to see his husband The Ray (Russell Tovey) make a return too.

EXCLUDE: Harry Wells

Head shot of Harry Wells wearing glasses, standing at Star Labs, softly smiling

There is another established Harrison Wells out there that is still alive. While Harry Wells from Earth-2 wasn't as problematic as Sherloque, this one sort of completed his story in Season 4. After his intelligence was seriously messed with, things didn't look good for Harry.

Thanks to Marlize DeVoe (Kim Engelbrecht,) Harry's mind was able to be restored, but with the majority of his intelligence gone. However, he did reconnect with his emotional side better and that was a perfect ending for that Wells. Because of that, it would be best for him to live happily ever after on Earth-2, off-screen.

NEEDS: Oliver Queen/Green Arrow

Barry and Oliver at a funeral

Some may consider this a bit of a cheat since Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will be part of the crossover. Nevertheless, in many ways, the crossover exists on its own separate from the regular season. With Arrow Season 8 set to be its final one, it might be a lot of fun to see Barry and Oliver get to have a mini-adventure before the massive crossover.

As one of the core friendships in the entire Arrowverse, it's always a blast to see these two share the screen. Especially now that both shows will be airing back-to-back on Tuesday nights, a solo adventure with just the Emerald Archer and the Scarlet Speedster would be a lot of fun.

NEEDS: Flash of Earth-90

Elseworlds John Wesley Shipp The Flash Earth-90

While the Elseworlds crossover did a lot of things right, it didn't give fans a lot of time to see Grant Gustin and John Wesley Shipp's Flash interact. Given that Shipp played Barry Allen in his own show back in the '90s, it was disappointing to not see Shipp and Gustin getting to run side by side as Flashes.

Not only was Barry still Green Arrow in the crossover at this point, but the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) also banished Barry of Earth-90 before the two Flashes could team-up. Because of that, we deserve to see Shipp return in Season 6 so the two Barrys can share the screen together.
