A new casting breakdown for season 4 of The Flash confirms the Thinker will be the big bad and DC hero Elongated Man will be joining the team. With Barry still stuck in the Speed Force when season 4 of The Flash starts, the Central City status quo will be turned on its head. With the Scarlet Speedster AWOL, Wally will be temporarily stepping into his shoes to tackle the never-ending stream of villains Team Flash will inevitably face. We already know season 1 rogue Peek-A-Boo will be back, but the main foe of the season will be even more trouble.

Given the hints that were dropped throughout season 3 of The Flash, a leading contender for big bad in the upcoming season has been the Thinker. With a mind unlike anyone else's, he's an essential rogue from the comics we've been wanting to see show up. We recently learned a Game of Thrones actor auditioned for a role similar to the Thinker, lending credence to the idea that the character would make an appearance. Now, we not only know the Thinker will in fact be season 4's main rogue, but he won't be the only addition from the comics.

That Hashtag Show has new character breakdowns for season 4 of The Flash which confirm the Thinker and provide more context for his character. Along with his arrival, he'll be assisted by new villain the Mechanic. Luckily, Team Flash will also see its ranks grow this year as comic stalwart Elongated Man will be joining S.T.A.R. Labs.

[CLIFFORD DEVOE AKA THE THINKER]–Male, 40s-50, Open Ethnicity. After being struck with dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion, Clifford Devoe became a meta-human with a mega-mind. A Stephen Hawking-esque genius who’s devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity. “The Thinker” will embark upon a season long battle with The Flash that pins the “fastest man alive” against the “fastest mind alive.” FRACTIONAL (7/13) ONE SEASON SERIES REGULAR

[THE MECHANIC]–Female, 30s-40, Diverse. A highly intelligent engineer who designs and assembles a plethora of devices for the ailing Clifford Devoe. Devoe’s right hand, she’s the truest of true-believers who’ll stop at nothing to implement his plan to fix all that’s wrong with humanity-even if she loses who she is in the process. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR

[RALPH DIBNY AKA ELONGATED MAN]–Male, Mid to late 30s, Open Ethnicity. Think Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt, Ralph has the ability to stretch his body to super-human lengths and sizes…however, while resculpting his old body is easy to do, Dibny finds losing the old misguided sense of truth and slobbery, even after joining the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, is a far more difficult task to accomplish. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR WITH A SERIES REGULAR OPTION FOR NEXT SEASON

From the breakdown, DeVoe looks to be pretty similar to his comic counterpart with the twist that he's of course a metahuman. With three seasons of Barry facing speedsters, it'll be refreshing to see the whole team have to use their smarts to take on the new villain. The Mechanic, meanwhile, appears to be a new character who will be joining the Thinker in his crusade to reshape Central City.

Along with the two new villains, the Arrowverse will gain its first stretchy superhero. Dating way back to 1960, Ralph Dibny made his debut in the comics during The Flash #112. Not only can he stretch, reshape, and contort his body in extreme ways, but he's also a gifted detective in the comics. What the "old misguided sense of truth and slobbery" line means, we haven't the foggiest. Likely, the death of Ralph's wife from the page will haunt him in the show, providing him with his own arc throughout the season.

With the addition of the Thinker and Elongated Man, the Arrowverse now has two more popular characters from DC Comics at its disposal. And with The Flash coming to Comic-Con, we should learn even more about the characters and series soon.

The Flash season 4 premieres Tuesday, October 10 @8pm on The CW.
