Warning! Spoilers for The Flash #782 by DC Comics

The Flash is pulling out one of his most hilarious useless costumes to date, as the hero and Kid Flash debuted their newest stealth suits, which seem to serve little purpose. In Flash #782 by DC Comics, Wally West enthusiastically shows Wally West the stealth suits, which the pair use to break into Iron Heights prison. But, besides giving The Flash's darker costumes, the new digs don't seem to help at all as they might be the worst they've ever worn.

While The Flash (and most Flash's from across the Multiverse) have sported similar costumes since the character's debut more than 60 years ago, outfits, like the iconic red, yellow and white suit Barry Allen wears, have changed over time depending on the storyline. For example, Barry Allen's villainous Future Flash wore a darker suit highlighted by light blue energy pulsing around him. Meanwhile, The Flash has even gotten his own Blue Lantern ensemble, which merged his usual Flash costume with that of the cosmic ring-bearers. However, while aesthetically pleasing, his newest stealth suit might be The Flash's most useless and worst to date.

In The Flash #782 by Jeremy Adams, Fernando Pasarin, Matt Ryan, Jeremy Cox, Peter Pantazis, and Rob Leigh, Wally West and Wallace West take on the villain Girder, bringing the villain to Iron Heights prison after his defeat. However, the pair are confused about how the villain escaped the high-tech prison to begin with, leading them to investigate. The Flash decides he and Kid Flash will go undercover with new stealth suits, which Wally is excited to see in action.

Flash Stealth Suit DC Comics

The pure black suits give the hero's a darker look that would probably make them harder to spot in the dark, but other than that feature, the costumes have no special tech or trickery. When they break into Iron Heights, their lightning trails and powers still are evident, just with a much darker suit around them. The pair even ended up being spotted before phasing out of prison. Like Iron Man's stealth armor, the new suits are some of the worst costumes The Flash's worn.

While Wally was excited about the stealth suits (which could be a callback to a look he sported in the Young Justice series), the costumes quickly prove ineffective as they barely make the speedsters any harder to spot than they are in their usual outfits. However, despite being among the worst costumes ever worn by The Flash, seeing Wally West excited about wearing them makes us forgive their uselessness.
